The night that made me really want to start this thing called weather man! Yall idk what to say about this night, I was so very anxious and nervous as this got going over in AR the direction it was heading I honestly thought it was going to make a B-Line directly for my neck of the woods, not knowing just what this beast was going to do! As I watched Ryan Hall, Y'all this monster traveled just north of us then it hit me this was going to be a one in a generation storm carving a path of destruction we would never forget! My thoughts and prayers still go out to everyone affected by this storm it was certainly a huge eye opener for me, and made me really want to study meteorology! As we get into our honestly in my opinion main severe weather season please stay weather aware just because it’s winter doesn’t mean we can’t see severe weather even significant severe weather! Thank you for sticking with me and letting me be your weather man, I love each and everyone of you and will do my absolute best to protect you and warn you of upcoming severe weather!
12.10.21....Today marks 4 years since that terrible night in December. We pause to remember everyone who experienced loss than night, whether from Cayce to Mayfield to Benton, Cambridge Shores to Dawson Springs, or folks from Samburg to Dresden. Seeing this radar image and storm track still gives me chills. It's still hard to believe that one of the most violent and longest tracking tornadoes in recorded history hit right here. It was the most helpless I've ever felt on air. I hope to never experience it again.
In the aftermath, we saw people all over our area come together and show the world what it looked like to love your neighbors. I'll never forget that. And I will never get tired of hearing the stories of people who are alive today because the weather enterprise worked. They received the warning and knew what to do.
Today we also celebrate recovery. So many of the areas impacted by those horrible tornadoes are building back better than before, and we know greater things are still to come for these communities.
