Meet Vektr 💜

When you shoot on location Mother Nature sometimes gets in the way so you’ll notice 2 different locations and color schemes here. Despite braving a bit of rain for a while we called it in during one of the heaviest downpours I’ve ever experienced. Despite the rain both George and Nicole were absolute professionals.

I love working dogs and Vektr is not only gorgeous but also so well trained with a little splash of character and that infamous 👅 that keeps sticking out. The love and dedication both George and Nicole have for him is unmissable and his story below will underline that.

“When I decided to get a Beauceron, I had to ask myself a million questions: Is it the right time? Is it the right breed? Am I experienced enough? Is my lifestyle suitable? And then in what felt like one blink of an eye, Vektr became ours and he was coming home. In the past year we have taught eachother so much - Patience, discipline, boundaries, respect, trust, but most of all I fell completely head over heels in love with my boy. Vektrs the whole package, truly - He has a huge heart, he’s sensitive and emotional. He’s funny and silly. He loves to work and he always gives his 100%. He has pushed me outside of my comfort zone in so many amazing ways. This has given me opportunities to try new things, make new friends, travel to new places, and make a million more memories I would have never made without him.

I think I’m most grateful for the fact that we are truly growing together. Every single day he teaches me new things about myself, he pushes me to be a better version of myself, and he reminds me how precious life really is. “

My story 💜

It’s been a wild ride so far, from photographing my friend’s dog Freddie 5 years ago. I’ve always loved cameras and used to take my parent’s camera all the time when I was young. I used film cameras like everyone else back then and results were hit and miss. When digital cameras became popular I bought a Nikon D60 and it was the brand I would stick with. From a D200 and a D300 all the way to the mirrorless world and my loved Z8 right now, they have all helped me become a better photographer.

Starting is not easy especially since everyone has a camera in their pocket these days. Oftentimes clients need to see a good photo in order to see the difference between what they can do and what you can. And especially with dogs it always takes another person and a lot of patience to get the results you want.

I’ve learned so much over the years and still am, that part never stops. I’m doing what I love and that’s what we should all strive towards. Im going to keep trying things I haven’t done because if you always just stick to one niche, you’re missing out on growth opportunities (in my opinion).

So in 2026 and beyond you’ll continue to find me on location with people and dogs, at the dock diving pool, indoors at trials, agility, scentwork and beyond. I’ll continue to photograph youth sports like baseball and also weddings. And if there is something you’re doing that you’d like me to be part of, drop me a message and let’s start a conversation.

Meet Chomper 💜

Sighthounds are rare and I always at never get one in front of my camera. Chomper is a gorgeous mix who still has a lot of puppy energy but a joy to be around. We did this session just at the start of fall and took advantage of some gorgeous colors.

More about Chomper:

Chomper joined our family after the loss of my soul dog, Brodie. He was my whole heart, my first dog, and he left a giant rift in my life.

Ezri, a Windsprite breeder I had been following with interest, posted about their upcoming litter a few months after Brodie passed away, and I was instantly intrigued. They were a dinosaur themed litter, for one, and I love dinosaurs. It was a lurcher litter - meaning a sighthound mix.
But at this stage in life, I needed a dog that would be just as happy to hang out with the family building Legos on a rainy day as heading out for a half day hike.

So. I submitted my application. I was told pretty quickly after the fact that I would be definitely getting a puppy. Chomper was instantly my favorite from the minute he was born. He was the biggest, born 100g larger than everyone else and kept that gap. And he just seemed so goofy. He reminded me constantly of Brodie in his mannerisms. personalities. From the time they’re able to pull themselves around, the puppies were being evaluated. And Chomper was given to me.

He’s exactly what I asked for - a happy go lucky, social dude who knows when to chill out. He’s an excellent cafe dog. He comes with me to the salon and rests on his mat while I get my hair cut. He’s a goofball who loves to learn and train with me, wholeheartedly throwing himself into whatever we’re doing even if he doesn’t quite get it. Nothing phases him. He is just the best boy and I know he has some Brodie magic in his soul. Even his name - when I adopted Brodie my friend jokingly suggested we call him The Chompinator. Chomper has been so healing for me and I cannot express in words just how much I love this fuzzy noodle.”
