Meet Finn đź’ś

I had photographed Finn before at a Barn Hunt event but photographing dogs and their owners is always so much better, you’ll see in the next parts…..

“I lost my heart dog, Chase, on 1.11.24. He was a beautiful blue Merle Australian Shepherd and truly the light of my life. For months after, the idea of opening my heart to another dog felt impossible.

And then came Finn.

The day I met him, I hadn’t planned on bringing home a puppy. But there he was—this sweet, polite little soul who sat quietly at my feet and looked up at me with eyes that felt like they were searching mine. When I picked him up, he gave me the gentlest kiss on the nose, and in that moment, I knew he was meant to come home with me.

As I filled out his paperwork, I noticed something that gave me chills—Finn had been born on January 11th, the very same day Chase passed away. It felt like more than coincidence. It felt like Chase had a hand in sending Finn to me. For those who don’t know, 111 is an angel number. It can symbolize new beginnings and fresh starts. And that’s exactly what I needed. We always tell Finn, “Angel brother Chase sent you to us”.

From the start, Finn has been my “do-everything” dog—always eager, always ready to try it all. I’ve never bonded so quickly with a dog; it was like we just instantly clicked.
Finn didn’t just bring me back into the dog world—he reignited my passion for it. With him, I didn’t just gain another dog. I gained a purpose, a partner, and a piece of my heart I didn’t realize was still open.”

Speeches and dances was definitely my favorite part of Tyann and Greg’s wedding. There were tears of joy and lots of laughter, just the way it should be.

Tyann + Greg

A few months ago I started photographing weddings as a second shooter for my friend .smith.photography. While wedding may seem very different from what I usually do when I photograph people and their dogs, they share values like love and connection which I always try to capture and portray in my work. I definitely enjoy more of the documentary style than the posed one and it lets you capture moments that otherwise would not happen in the same way.

This is part one of three like with everything else I do so from time to time you’ll now see some wedding photos filled with love between two people instead of a person and their dog but the drive behind it is the same because that’s what it’s all about in the end.

If you have feedback, questions etc. please let me know, it’s definitely a journey!

This is the most important thing for me when it comes to my work. Not money, not fame, just the pursuit of being able to capture the relationship you have with your dog so you’ll have these memories.

A lot of photos that come out of a session are not posed, they evolve naturally between owner and their dog and as a result they show genuine connection and emotions.

For those of you that know me from photographing dock diving at Splash Town, it’s just a part of what I do. After the event ended last night, I headed home, sorted some photos and then went out again for a photoshoot.

I photograph people and their dogs and always try to tell a story because to me it’s more than just taking a few photos of a single dog. Every dog owner has a unique relationship with their dog based on their own and their dogs personality, their history, their emotional attachment. I try to bring that out and last night for sunset I got to photograph Finn and Alyssa who I had met before at a barn hunt event at Stonehedge Barn Hunt and Dog Sports.

A lot of folks come to me when their dogs are old and sick and they regret never having invested in photos to have those memories.

This is just a sneak peek, they’re all unedited. If you’re looking to have memories like these with your dog, message me, head over to my booking site to start things off.
