Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for parts of the area again this afternoon. A slight risk for severe weather is out from the Storm Prediction Center for Hampton Roads south into North Carolina.

Storms will start to our northwest after 1-2pm and move in during the mid to late afternoon. After 6pm the southside will have lingering downpours while North Carolina gets into potentially severe weather.

It won't be nearly as unbearable as yesterday in terms of the heat and humidity but stay hydrated if you are headed out through the early afternoon hours. Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90 later on before storms form. These storms could be severe so have a way of receiving severe weather alerts. WAVY TV 10
