🌿 From My Heart in a Heavy Hour 🌿
Normally, I share beauty, peace, and quiet moments here. But today my heart is too heavy to stay silent. Yesterday’s events shook our nation. Charlie Kirk’s death was tragic—but what broke me even more was watching some cheer, celebrate, and even call for more violence.
I’ll be honest—I am angry. I am saddened. I am disheartened. And yet I know this is not just about people or politics. This is spiritual war.
Ephesians 6:12 reminds us:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
I may lose people for saying this, but the truth must be spoken: mocking death is not justice. Celebrating violence is not righteousness. When darkness is applauded, it shows how desperately we need the light of Christ.
My prayers and deepest sympathy are with the Kirk family in this painful time. May God’s comfort hold them close. As 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 says:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
And we also hold fast to these promises:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
I don’t share this to stir fear, but because I believe we are called to stand firm. To repent. To pray. To cling to Jesus when the world feels like it is unraveling.
I will always choose peace and gentleness, but today I also choose courage. I cannot watch the darkness grow louder without lifting my own voice for the Light.
Stand strong, friends. Do not be discouraged. Even in sorrow, the promise remains: the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. ✝️
