Last month, two Hanford Police corporals were recognized at a City Council meeting for being promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Sgt. Chad Medeiros was born and raised in Hanford and joined the Hanford Police Department in 2016 after serving with the Avenal Police Department.

"Sgt. Medeiros has held numerous specialized roles, including SWAT Sniper Team member from 17' to 19', K-9 handler from June of 2018 to September of 2023, and K-9 program coordinator--a role that he currently still holds," Huddleston said. "He became a field training officer in 2020 and was promoted to corporal in November of 21' and served as a school resource officer corporal from 2024 to 2025. He currently leads our Explorer program, mentoring the next generation of law enforcement professionals."

Before joining the Hanford Police Department in 2015, Sgt. Rolando Jaime was a paramedic--a license he maintains to this day.

"Specializations include breacher, shotgun certification, explosive breaching, and diversionary device instructor," Huddleston said. "Sgt. Jaime has made significant contributions as a field training officer, first aid, CPR and Narcan instructor, and a leader in community engagement. He initiated the Autism awareness program, helping design corresponding patches."

Congratulations Sgt. Jaime and Sgt. Medeiros! Thank you for your continued service and dedication to the City of Hanford!

We would like to thank the Visalia Lowe’s on South Mooney Blvd for donating building materials to our SWAT Team! 🙌

The team used the donation to build a custom breacher door for training purposes, a key part of preparing for real-life emergency situations.

Our SWAT Team trains regularly to stay prepared for high-risk situations. From tactical drills to breaching practice, they’re constantly working to stay ready and protect our community.

We’re grateful for the support from local businesses like Lowe’s. Partnerships like this help keep Visalia safe. 💙

On Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 2121 hours, the California Highway Patrol contacted the Kings County Sheriff's Office to advise they were involved in a vehicle pursuit in the area of Gale Avenue and the California Aqueduct. The California Highway Patrol advised they were approaching Kings County, and they requested assistance from the Kings County Sheriff's Office Air Unit.

While the Kings County Sheriff's Office Air Unit were responding to assist, the California Highway Patrol informed KCSO the vehicle had stopped at a residence around Gale Avenue and Avenal Cutoff Road, where the driver ran from the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol requested the assistance of the Kings County Sheriff's K-9 Unit to search for the suspect, who was later identified as Jesus Inocencio.

The Kings County Sheriff's K-9, Willie, arrived at the scene to search for Jesus. During the search, a resident in the area called the Kings County Sheriff's Dispatch, advising Jesus possibly attempted to break into an attached storage room to their residence. Deputies went to the residence and found the attached storage room door to be ajar. Willie began searching for Jesus. Jesus was concealing himself behind a storage bin along the wall of the residence, outside of the storage room. Jesus was apprehended by Willie and placed into custody.

A records check showed Inocencio was on California Department of Corrections Parol for California Penal Code 245(a)(1), assault with a deadly weapon. Jesus also had an active no bail parole violation arrest warrant through the California Department of Corrections. After Jesus was treated by emergency medical services, he was turned over to the custody of the California Highway Patrol.

Jesus was booked into the Kings County Jail for evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for public safety, resisting/obstructing arrest, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and the active no bail parole violation warrant. His bail was set at $105,000.
