HSIN has been looking at the effects of Noise on living beings. In Northern Michigan Summer allows us to spend time, Much Needed time- outside relaxing, gardening/barbecuing & exercising. We are studying the growing nuisance of human made noise. If you have chosen Up North to live/retire you know how our towns also attract/swell with folks who leave the city life to either visit or to stay in their "second homes". Science shows that noise has increased exponentially across the nation & so, the Costs it has on health & welfare of all living beings: costs on mental & physical health. "People living with noise pollution may feel irritable, on edge, frustrated, or angry. If a person feels they cannot control the amount of noise in their environment, its impact on their mental health intensifies." Harbor Springs wants to know how you view noise nuisance; Airplane Traffic, Gas powered Leaf blowers, altered exhaust on vehicles, Construction noise/pounding, fireworks, etc.
Please take 3 minutes to provide "THOUGHTFUL" feedback. The survey provided by the city of Harbor Springs will assist in helping to protect the Livability & Peaceful nature of Northern Michigan that draws folks to visit or stay.
