Chain-Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

The return of Roman gladiators, prisoners compete in death matches for the ultimate prize: their freedom, at the cost of their humanity. Adjei-Brenyah’s Chain-Gang All stars is a brilliant look at the American prison system’s alliance of systemic racism, capitalism, and mass incarceration.

We're happy to announce the addition of Neo Matloga to the BLACK COPPER Market.

Matloga is a visual artist known for his distinctive large-scale figurative compositions in collage, charcoal and ink. He explores the emotional and political textures of everyday life through a visual language shaped by movement, transition, and layered experience. His work often captures suspended moments — quiet,
unresolved, and deeply human.

Matloga’s practice foregrounds stillness, refusal, and presence — offering a visual poetics that resists resolution and invites attention.

COPPER Magazine

is a carefully curated sensory exhibition which uncovers and celebrates the electric, meaningful, and innovative storytelling from artists of color who work within all artistic mediums. The artists we showcase create a counter-narrative through works driven by culture, religion, political views, and identity, building a community of artistic minds capable and willing to challenge homogenized art.
