🚨 CRIME | Fatal shooting following pursuit in Harlingen, Texas

At approximately 12:46 PM, the Combes Police Department initiated a vehicle pursuit of a suspect wanted on outstanding felony warrants in Harlingen.

The suspect’s vehicle entered Harlingen, where Cameron County Constables, Precinct 5, joined the pursuit. During the chase, the suspect struck multiple vehicles along Business 77, eventually becoming disabled near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Business 77.

After stopping, the suspect exited the vehicle and opened fire on officers and deputies. Law enforcement returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times.

A Justice of the Peace responded to the scene and pronounced the suspect deceased. The Texas Rangers have been requested and will take over the investigation. The District Attorney’s Office is also on scene.

👉 No officers, deputies, or civilians were reported injured during the incident.

🚧 The scene remains active. Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area of Harrison Avenue and Business 77 while the investigation continues.

📂 Case remains open and under investigation.
