Recently, I had the chance to stop by J. Birney Crum Stadium to catch a JV football matchup between the Dieruff Huskies and the Liberty Hurricanes. When I arrived, both teams were locked in—warming up, running plays, and getting mentally ready for battle. As soon as the ball was kicked off, the action was on. Liberty received the opening kickoff and came out swinging with a sharp passing attack that led them straight down the field for the game’s first touchdown. Dieruff responded with a powerful run game, showing flashes of grit and determination, but Liberty’s defense tightened up, shutting down the lanes and unleashing a relentless pass rush that kept Dieruff’s quarterbacks under pressure all night. But here’s the bigger picture—JV and freshman football isn’t just about the scoreboard. It’s about learning the game, building confidence, and preparing our youth for the varsity level and beyond. Recently, I had the chance to stop by and catch the William Allen vs. Freedom High School football game, and let me tell you—the energy was electric from the moment I arrived. Both squads were locked in during warmups, running plays and getting dialed in for battle. Once the ball was kicked off, the action didn’t wait. Freedom received the opening kickoff and wasted no time marching down the field to score the game’s first touchdown. After a few more scores from Freedom, William Allen responded with grit and determination, piecing together a strong drive powered by a tough running game and some sharp passing to finally get on the board. Despite battling through injuries to several key starters, the Canaries showed nothing but heart and hustle all night. Their second scoring drive came through the air, capping off a resilient effort with a well-earned touchdown. 💪

But it was East Stroudsburg South’s defense that made the difference, forcing key turnovers that turned into clutch scoring drives and ultimately sealed the win. Recently, I had the opportunity to stop by J. Birney Crum Stadium to catch a hard-fought matchup between William Allen and East Stroudsburg South—and let me tell you, the energy was real from the moment I arrived. Both teams were locked in during warmups, dialed into their game plans and ready for war. As soon as the ball was kicked off, the non-stop action began. This one turned into a defensive slugfest, with both squads showcasing strong passing attacks and explosive runs—but the defenses came to play. Interceptions, fumble recoveries, and clutch stops kept the scoreboard tight all game long. It came down to the wire, but in the end, East Stroudsburg South edged out the win in a battle that showed just how much heart these young athletes bring to the field.

🔥 Youth Sports in the Lehigh Valley: A Rivalry for the Ages 🔥
This past weekend, I had the chance to swing by Keck Park and witness one of the Lehigh Valley’s fiercest youth football rivalries—The Allentown As vs. The East Side Little Huskies. When I arrived, both squads were locked in, warming up like warriors preparing for battle. The energy was electric, and you could feel the pride pouring in from every coach, player, and parent on the sidelines. As soon as the ball was snapped, the action was non-stop. The As came out swinging with a powerful ground game, punching in the first touchdown and grabbing an early lead. But the Huskies weren’t backing down—they answered with their own rushing attack, storming down the field to tie it up. The As struck again, reclaiming the lead with another rushing TD, but both defenses tightened up, turning the rest of the game into a gritty, hard-fought chess match. Then came the final play—a long, explosive run by the Huskies that sealed a walk-off touchdown, ending this epic showdown in a 14–14 tie. 💥

Friday nights under the lights hit different in the Lehigh Valley, and last night’s showdown between William Allen and East Stroudsburg North was nothing short of electric. The Canaries came into the game riding high at 2-0, hungry to stretch that streak to 3-0—and they didn’t just show up, they showed OUT. When I arrived at the stadium, Allen was already locked in, running crisp drills and executing plays with precision. Head Coach Joel Rupp and his staff had the squad dialed in like it was playoff time, preparing their boys for battle. From the first whistle, Allen unleashed a balanced offensive attack—ground game strong, air game sharp—but it was the defense that stole the show, absolutely smothering East Stroudsburg and pitching a shutout. Final score: 16-0. The Canaries didn’t just win—they made a statement.

Recently, I had the opportunity to stop by Awesome Fest at Cedar Beach in Allentown, PA to cover the Whitehall Zephyr Girls Basketball Team, and let me tell you—these ladies came ready to hoop. Before tip-off, Whitehall was locked in, running plays and dialing in their focus like a squad on a mission. As soon as the ball was in the air, the Zephyrs wasted no time attacking on both ends of the court, jumping out to an early lead with aggressive defense and sharp offensive ex*****on. Just as the energy peaked, the skies opened up with a downpour that forced the game to pause and relocate to the East Side Youth Center. Once play resumed, Reading came out fired up, determined to close the gap—but in the end, Whitehall held strong and secured the win. Big shoutout to both teams for battling through the elements and putting on a show. 📸

🏈 LEHIGH VALLEY, WE’RE BACK! High school football has officially returned—and so have I, ready to capture every moment under the Friday night lights. My first stop of the season? Catasauqua Football, where I rolled into town this past Friday to catch their electric home opener against the Wilson Warriors. And let me tell you—Catty did not disappoint. They came out swinging with a relentless ground game, crisp passing, and a defense that locked Wilson down from the first whistle to the final horn. The Rough Riders jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, dominating from start to finish and kicking off their season 2-0 in style. Huge shoutout to the Catasauqua Area School District, the entire football program, and all the players, coaches, and families who make this team special. And respect to Wilson Football—though the scoreboard didn’t go their way, their grit and heart were undeniable. Salute to their players, coaches, and parents for showing up and battling to the end.
