THANK YOU EVERYONE for 1,000 followers! 🎉

When I started Friday Night Kickoff in the middle of June, I had no idea the page would reach this milestone in just 3 short months. My goal from the beginning was simple: bring more local coverage to the high school football teams and players across the PHAC and Mid-Penn Conferences. The response from both communities has been nothing short of incredible.

In addition to reaching 1,000+ followers on Facebook, Friday Night Kickoff has grown to nearly 130 subscribers on YouTube. This is my first time building something like this from the ground up, so I genuinely appreciate every follow, share, comment, message and piece of feedback. Whether you've been here since the first post in June or just recently found the page, thank you for supporting what I'm trying to build.

And this is only the beginning.

I want Friday Night Kickoff to continue growing and bringing you the best high school football coverage possible throughout Central PA. More live shows. More rankings. More player and team features. More Game of the Week coverage. More original content. And, eventually, the goal is to grow Friday Night Kickoff into a College GameDay-style local sports media brand that showcases the teams, players, schools and communities that make Friday nights in Central PA so special.

Your support and enthusiasm over these first three months have given me even more motivation to see just how far we can take this. Cheers! 🏈

And secondly, here are the Mid-Penn Power Rankings after Week 4.

Week 4 is in the books, and while the top four remain untouched, there’s plenty of movement throughout the rest of the rankings. Northern makes the biggest jump, Gettysburg takes a tumble, and the battle for those final few spots is getting interesting.

Here’s how I see the Mid Penn heading into Week 5 👇

#1 Harrisburg Cougars
The Cougars remain at the top. Harrisburg has done nothing to warrant giving up the #1 spot, and until somebody proves otherwise, they remain the team to beat in the Mid Penn. With the talent and expectations surrounding this team, the Cougars continue to set the standard at the top.

#2 State College Little Lions
No movement for State College either. The Little Lions continue to look like one of the most complete teams in the conference and remain right on Harrisburg’s heels. There’s a legitimate argument for #1, but for now, they stay locked into the second spot. Huge matchup between them and Harrisburg will decide things in Week 10 at Memorial Field in State College.

#3 Bishop McDevitt Crusaders
The Crusaders hold steady at #3. McDevitt continues to be McDevitt, which is, an extremely talented football team capable of competing with anybody in the state. There simply hasn’t been enough separation between the top three to justify changing the order this week.

#4 Altoona Mountain Lions
After making their debut at #4 last week, Altoona stays right there. The Mountain Lions have earned their spot in the upper tier of these rankings, and nothing from Week 4 convinced me they should move in either direction. For now, there’s a pretty clear top four.

#5 Northern Polar Bears
The biggest riser of the week. Northern jumps THREE spots from #8 to #5 and continues to prove it belongs among the Mid Penn’s best. The Polar Bears have already put together quality wins this season, and their Week 4 performance against previously undefeated Gettysburg only strengthens their résumé. Northern is officially a team nobody should be overlooking.

#6 Line Mountain Eagles
Line Mountain slides one spot after narrowly defeating Upper Dauphin 14-7, but this is much more about Northern’s rise than anything being wrong with the Eagles. Line Mountain has already established itself as one of the conference’s strongest teams and remains firmly inside the Top 10. They’re still a team I would not want to see on my schedule.

#7 Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers
Steel-High stays put at #7. The Steamrollers may not have the enrollment numbers of some of the schools surrounding them, but pound-for-pound, this remains one of the most talented programs in the MPC. Until their play gives me a reason to move them up or down, they belong right here.

#8 Gettysburg Warriors
Gettysburg takes its first real hit in the rankings, falling two spots from #6 after its matchup with Northern in the Friday Night Kickoff Game of the Week. The Warriors had earned their way into the Top 10 with a strong start, so one setback isn't enough to send them crashing out. However, when you lose head-to-head to the team that was directly below you, some movement has to happen. Gettysburg stays in, but drops to #8.

#9 Hershey Trojans
Hershey remains at #9. The Trojans have shown enough to keep their place in the rankings, but the teams ahead of them have stronger cases right now. With Cumberland Valley, Palmyra and Shippensburg sitting just outside the Top 10, there isn't much room for error going forward.

#10 Mechanicsburg Wildcats
Mechanicsburg hangs onto the final spot. The Wildcats haven't been perfect, but their body of work is still enough for me to keep them inside the Top 10 for another week. That said, #10 might be the most vulnerable position on the board as there are several teams right behind them waiting for an opportunity.

FIRST THREE OUT: Cumberland Valley Eagles • Palmyra Cougars • Shippensburg Greyhounds

The top four stay locked in, but #5 through #10 is becoming a weekly battle. One big win, or one bad loss, could completely change the bottom half of these rankings next week.

Who’s too high? Who’s too low? And who from the First 3 Out deserves to crack the Top 10?

Behold...the HIGHLY anticipated PHAC Power Rankings after Week 4:

We have a NEW #1 once again.... and after another wild weekend across the PHAC, there was plenty of movement throughout the Top 10.

Here’s where I have everybody after Week 4 👇

#1 Shamokin Indians
The Indians take over the top spot after making their biggest statement of the season. In a battle of undefeated teams, Shamokin took down then- #3 Jersey Shore 35-14 to improve to 4-0. After shutting out Shikellamy 37-0 last week and now beating a very good Jersey Shore team by three touchdowns, Shamokin has earned its last two HAC-1 wins in 4A, regaining the #1 spot.

#2 Southern Columbia Tigers
Before anyone comes after me, Southern didn't do anything to lose the #1 ranking. The Tigers absolutely handled Lewisburg 61-8 and remain undefeated. This move is more about Shamokin's résumé getting stronger after the win over Jersey Shore. The gap between #1 and #2 is razor thin right now.

#3 Mount Carmel Red Tornadoes
Another week, another dominant performance from the Red Tornadoes. Mount Carmel went on the road and dismantled North Schuylkill, 55-7. After beating Milton 48-14 last week, MCA has now scored 103 points over its last two games. They're undefeated and continue to look like one of the PHAC's most complete teams.

#4 Bloomsburg Panthers
Don't look now, but the Panthers just keep climbing. Bloomsburg follows up its convincing win over Mifflinburg by handing previously undefeated Warrior Run its first loss, 34-15. That's back-to-back quality wins and enough for Bloomsburg to jump another spot this week.

#5 Jersey Shore Bulldogs
The Bulldogs suffer their first loss of 2026, falling 35-14 at Shamokin. I'm not overreacting and dropping Jersey Shore out of the upper half of the rankings, this is still the team that beat Montoursville and demolished Selinsgrove 49-7. But when #3 and #4 keep winning convincingly, a 21-point loss leaves room for them to move ahead.

#6 Danville Ironmen
Danville quietly continues to take care of business. The Ironmen shut out Milton 24-0 after beating Central Columbia 52-3 the week before. That's 76-3 over their last two games, and another strong defensive showing moves them up one spot this week.

#7 Shikellamy Braves
How about the Braves?! After getting shut out by Shamokin last week, Shikellamy responds in a BIG way by beating Williamsport 48-44. With Tevin Williams out, it was the Braves that came out of the dogfight with a hard-earned victory. That's exactly the type of bounce-back win I wanted to see, and beating the then- #6 team earns the Braves a two-spot jump.

#8 Montoursville Warriors
The Warriors stay put, but they certainly helped their case this week. After back-to-back losses to Jersey Shore and Southern Columbia, Montoursville responded by shutting out Central Columbia 48-0. While the Blue Jays are winless, the Warriors will not be moving up just yet, but this was a much-needed statement win.

#9 Mifflinburg Wildcats
The Wildcats finally get the bounce-back performance they needed, shutting out Hughesville 36-0. Mifflinburg's 1-2 start wasn't pretty, but both losses came against teams currently in these rankings; Shikellamy and Bloomsburg. A dominant win combined with Williamsport's loss moves the Wildcats up one.

#10 Williamsport Millionaires
And here's the biggest fall of the week. Williamsport entered Friday unbeaten but suffers its first loss, 48-44 to Shikellamy. Dropping FOUR spots may seem harsh, but the Millionaires' first three wins came against Wyoming Valley West (2-2), Hazleton (1-3), and Central Mountain (0-4), and Friday was their first real opportunity to prove themselves against a team already established in these rankings. Although they came up just short, I'm keeping them in the Top 10...but for now, they're hanging onto #10.

FIRST THREE OUT:
Loyalsock Township Lancers
Warrior Run Defenders
Selinsgrove Seals

And I'll say this now: the bottom half of this Top 10 is WIDE OPEN. Loyalsock just put up 42, Selinsgrove answered its loss to Jersey Shore with a 44-0 shutout, and Warrior Run's first loss came against the #4 team in these rankings. All three are knocking on the door.

🔥 Week 4 is in the books. Shamokin sits atop the PHAC for the second time this season, but Southern Columbia is right there with 'em.

Friday Night Kickoff MID PENN GAME OF THE WEEK 🏈

We’ve got a BIG one coming Friday night...

#6 Gettysburg Warriors (3-0) @ #8 Northern Polar Bears (2-1)

Gettysburg has stormed into the Friday Night Kickoff Top-10 after a perfect 3-0 start, but Friday night brings a serious test. The Warriors head to Bostic Field to take on a Northern team that has climbed to #8 following quality wins over Mechanicsburg and Lower Dauphin.

For Northern, this is a chance to make a STATEMENT against an undefeated Gettysburg squad. For the Warriors, it’s an opportunity to prove that their 3-0 start (and rise into the Top 10) is for real.

Friday Night Kickoff Week 4 Game of the Week.

Two juggernauts. Two 3-0 teams. Two of the best teams in the PHAC. One MASSIVE Friday night matchup.

It doesn’t get much more high-leverage than this. An early-season showdown with major implications for the District IV landscape as #3 Jersey Shore travels to Bridy-Ruane Field at Kemp Memorial Stadium to take on #2 Shamokin.

The Bulldogs enter Week 4 coming off a dominant 49-7 win over Selinsgrove, while the Indians have outscored their first three opponents 131-21.

Mid-Penn top-10 as we get ready to head into Week 4...and we have new teams entering and big shake-ups across the board. Explanations below:

#1 Harrisburg stays put after a dominant 3-0 start to the season and a convincing 28-7 road victory at Cumberland Valley last week.

#2 State College JUMPS Bishop McDevitt following a 27-20 victory on the road in a game where QB Connor Kulka threw for 189 yards and a touchdown. This was a HUGE matchup, but it's the Little Lions who came out on top and earn the #2 spot this week.

#3 Bishop McDevitt is coming off the 27-20 loss to State College at home, but still remains a dominant top-contender in the Mid-Penn and 6A class. They're holding steady at the No. 3 spot.

#4 Altoona Mountain Lions are off to a silent but effective 2-1 start, earing quality wins against Central Dauphin and Central Dauphin East. These wins, coupled with a strong schedule in PA Class 6A, it's the Mountain Lions that surge this week, earning the No. 4 spot.

#5 Line Mountain holds steady at No. 5 after another huge win, improving to 3-0. The Eagles beat Northern Bedford County Friday Night, 45-18. A smaller school, the #5 spot in this conference is still really good, all things considering.

#6 Gettysburg Warriors earn their spot in the top-10 following a 3-0 start to their season. Quality wins over New Oxford, Hershey, and Waynesboro were convincing enough, but a tough Mid-Penn schedule awaits as they have a matchup with #8 Northern York this Friday Night in a game that could shake up the rankings once again come this time next week.

#7 Steelton-Highspire drops three spots during the off week; not because the Steamrollers did anything wrong, but because Altoona and Gettysburg have continued building stronger early-season résumés against quality competition. Steel-High remains one of the most talented teams in the Mid-Penn, but with limited results to evaluate so far, it’s tough to keep them ahead of teams stacking wins on the field.

#8 Northern makes one of the biggest jumps this week, climbing two spots after putting together quality wins over Mechanicsburg and Lower Dauphin. The Polar Bears have earned their spot rather than simply benefiting from movement around them, and now they have a HUGE opportunity to climb even higher. Northern hosts undefeated #6 Gettysburg this Friday night in one of the biggest Mid-Penn matchups of the week.

#9 Hershey slips one spot despite picking up another win, as undefeated Gettysburg’s résumé became too strong to keep outside the rankings. Hershey took care of business against Shippensburg, but the Trojans haven't quite done enough yet to separate themselves from the crowded back half of this Top 10.

#10 Mechanicsburg falls three spots and is officially on the edge of the Top 10. After falling to Northern in Week 2, the Wildcats responded with a win over Red Land, but a 14-2 victory wasn’t convincing enough to keep them ahead of several teams making stronger statements around the conference. Mechanicsburg remains ranked because of the talent and potential this team has shown, but the margin for error is officially gone.

🏈 Easily the HARDEST PHAC Top 10 Power Rankings I’ve done to date.... but here’s how things look after Week 3.

#1 Southern Columbia regains the top spot after a dominant 48-13 win over then- #5 Montoursville. The Tigers made a statement against a quality opponent, while the loss drops the Warriors three spots to #8.

#2 Shamokin improves to 3-0 following a BIG 37-0 win at home over Shikellamy. Despite another impressive performance from the Indians, Southern Columbia’s handling of Montoursville gives the Tigers the slight edge for the top spot this week. The loss drops Shikellamy three spots from #6 to #9.

#3 Jersey Shore (3-0) continues to roll as the Bulldogs dismantled Selinsgrove, 49-7. The loss knocks the Seals out of the Top 10 and sets up a HUGE #3 vs. #2 matchup this Friday night as Jersey Shore travels to Shamokin.

#4 Mount Carmel (3-0) looks strong once again after the Red Tornadoes took care of business at home against Milton, 48-14. It’s becoming a toss-up near the top...but do the Red Tornadoes look better than Jersey Shore this year?

#5 Bloomsburg continues to SOAR up the rankings after the Panthers handled now- #10 Mifflinburg. Bloomsburg looks STRONG, but a major test awaits Friday night as they host the undefeated Warrior Run Defenders, who just missed cracking the Top 10. That matchup could seriously shake up the rankings next week.

#6 Williamsport FINALLY cracks the Top 10! The Millionaires are off to a great 3-0 start after convincing wins over Wyoming Valley West, Hazleton and Central Mountain. Keep an eye on them as they host #9 Shikellamy this week in a 6 vs. 9 matchup.

#7 Danville stays put after dominating Central Columbia, 52-3. I couldn’t justify dropping the Ironmen after a performance like that, but I also couldn’t move them ahead of the teams above them. Time will reveal Danville’s true identity in 2026.

#8 Montoursville drops three spots following two-straight losses and a 48-13 loss to Southern Columbia. The Warriors remain in the Top 10, but now have an opportunity to respond this week against Central Columbia after running into the new #1 team in the conference in Week 3.

#9 Shikellamy falls three spots after suffering its first loss of the season, 37-0, against Shamokin. The Braves now have an immediate opportunity to bounce back with a big road matchup against undefeated #6 Williamsport.

#10 Mifflinburg hangs onto a spot in the rankings. The Wildcats are still a strong team in the PHAC, but we have a ways to go before figuring out their identity after a surprising 1-2 start, with losses to Shikellamy and Bloomsburg. Can they bounce back this week on the road against Hughesville?

Next week’s rankings could tell us A LOT... but for now, this is where we stand. 👀
