Lost Keys

A follower says: My husband lost his car keys/key fob either at Willie's in Hidden Valley or at Indian Footprints Apartments in front of Building 220, and up one flight of steps to an apartment on the floor. At both locations, we parked in a handicap spot closest to the door.

If anyone finds them, can you please turn them in to either the restaurant or the apartment office, and comment on this post as to where you left them so we can pick them up.

Thanks so much.

🚨 Breaking: Semi-Truck Fire Disrupts Downtown Cincinnati Traffic

CINCINNATI — Fire crews are actively responding to a large semi-truck fire beneath the I-71 overpass near Heritage Bank Center.

Authorities say the cab of the truck has been heavily involved in flames, sending thick smoke visible across the downtown skyline. Emergency responders are on scene working to contain the fire and secure the area.

At this time, it remains unclear whether the driver was inside the vehicle when the fire began. Officials have not yet released information regarding possible injuries.

In response to the accident, US-50 is closed in both directions beyond I-71, as well as all northbound lanes of I-71 at US-50.

Motorists should expect delays and avoid the area as crews continue their response.

This is a developing situation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Obituary Notice — John Stephen “Steve” Coffman II

John Stephen “Steve” Coffman II, 55, of St. Leon, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on June 26, 1970, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Steve was the son of John Stephen Coffman and the late Sharon Kaye (Coker) Coffman.

Steve built his life around what mattered most to him—his family. A devoted husband and father, he married Diana Kay Engle on June 22, 2002, in Batesville, Indiana. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Steve took immense pride in his daughters, always striving to give them every opportunity and standing as their strongest protector and biggest champion.

Education and mentorship were central to Steve’s life. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Mathematics from Purdue University, followed by a master’s degree in Education from the University of Indianapolis, where he also met Diana. He dedicated over three decades to teaching mathematics, most recently at William Henry Harrison High School, where he impacted countless students with both his knowledge and his care.

Beyond the classroom, Steve’s passion for coaching shaped much of his life. Inspired by his father, he pursued basketball with dedication and heart. His coaching journey included roles at multiple schools and levels, from assistant and junior varsity positions to head coaching roles, culminating in leading the boys’ basketball program at Harrison High School. He also coached golf, cross country, and softball, and was a familiar and supportive presence at countless school sporting events.

Steve’s love for sports extended into his personal life. He enjoyed running and participated in half marathons, even training alongside his daughters for races. Whether on the court, field, or track, he found joy in encouraging others to grow and succeed.

His faith guided him in all aspects of life. Steve was known for his kindness, steady presence, and genuine care for every student and athlete he encountered. His influence reached far beyond wins and losses—he shaped lives, built confidence, and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph Campus in St. Leon, Indiana, followed by burial at Adams Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Steve’s Children Education Fund.

Steve’s legacy lives on through his family, his students, and the many lives he touched with his dedication, compassion, and unwavering belief in others.
