Feels a little like Christmas. As we continue to make progress on plans for the future of Blue Sprocket Sound, we have begun putting together a portable studio setup so we can at least get back to capturing performances wherever they are. But in typical Blue Sprocket fashion, it wouldn’t be right without some top notch gear designed by Rupert Neve.

It’s been an incredible day of music at today. Thank you every one of the bands, the crew, and the attendees who made today happen. Just a couple more bands today, but we’ll be feeling the love for a long time to come!

Sorry if we’ve been a little quiet over the last week. The first week after the explosion we were working to get back up and running. Since then we’ve been working on the long process of filing with insurance and trying to figure out the next steps for Blue Sprocket Sound. We’ve had some “High Fidelity” to keep us awake through all of it, and we’re making progress.

It’s been a little tough trying to think through seven years in that space, but it’s also brought back an incredible number of great memories. We are still incredibly grateful for all the shows of support we’ve received. We’re confident that even though this next part of the road will be long, it will land us exactly where we’re supposed to be. Stay tuned and we’ll try to be better about keeping you all in the loop.

Thank you to everyone who continues to reach out and offer messages of support, the overwhelming generosity of the gofundme campaign started by some of our clients, and all the prayers and positive vibes.

It’s still going to be a long time before we’re allowed in to see if anything is recoverable (it almost definitely isn’t), but they let’s us take our sign. And in time, and with our community working with us, this will almost certainly be on display again.

It’s hard to write this, but as many have already heard, today our studio on Miller Circle in Harrisonburg, VA was destroyed.

We still do not have all the details about the explosion and subsequent fire that happened in the building, and we will not add any speculation about them. What is clear is that a number of diverse businesses in our beautiful town were lost today, and that hurts. But, while we are heartbroken by the loss of our studio and the surrounding businesses, the sheer outpouring of support and encouragement from our local community, but also from people we know all over the country, has helped to lift our spirits.

It will take some time for us to process everything that has happened today, to pull backups from “the cloud,” to begin figuring out next steps. Please be patient with us as we figure out our next direction.

Luckily, our sister business was not greatly impacted and will continue normal operations this week.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. If we haven’t responded it’s because the number of messages has been overwhelming and it will take us some time to get through them all, but know that we’ve received them and we’ve been moved by each one.

Harrisonburg’s music scene is vibrant, and we hope to be a part of it again soon!

10/17/2020

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. We don’t have all the details yet about what happened at our building. But at this time our crew is safe, and that’s the most important thing. Our hearts go out to the other businesses in the area, and want to thank all the first responders who are working hard on the scene.

Save The Amps: Eccohollow Flood Relief organized by Piper Groves

As EccoHollow Art and Sound tries to sort through all the damage from the flooding in Staunton, they are definitely in need of additional financial support. We know this is a hard time for almost everyone, but if you're able to support their cause it would be helpful to the greater music community in the Shenandoah Valley.

We're crushed to learn of the damage to EccoHollow Art and Sound, and other businesses/properties in Staunton due to the flooding. Please keep these guys in your thoughts, and know that they will undoubtedly need support from the community as they figure things out.

On Saturday August 9 downtown Staunton flooded due to some unusual storm activity. Eccohollow was severely impacted- the devastation is real and vast. Our gear and dreams washed away with the impact of 3-4 feet of water inside the shop. We are currently evaluating the state of things.

If you have equipment in the shop, please be assured that we are thinking about you also. We are surveying the damage and will be picking up the pieces as best we can, as soon as we can.

The company that would be Blue Sprocket Sound as it is now was signed into existence 7 years ago today. It would take several months before our studio buildout was ready for move-in and our first sessions could take place, but those months seemed to fly by.

Since that time we've added and expanded our family with a number of talented engineers, producers, musicians, and even a visual artist or two. We have made many upgrades to our facility and continue to enhance it whenever we can, as we try to be a creative hub for music creation.

To say we've come a long way would be an understatement, and it's only because of the support of our clients, our city, our teammates, our families and friends who all continue to let us do what we love to do. So, thanks to everyone who has been a part of the history of Blue Sprocket and we can't wait to see what the future holds!

Hey Everyone!

In light of all that is happening we will be closing the studio for all office hours and only meeting with people by appointment. For any meetings we do have by appointment, we will be deep cleaning the studio and other facilities after each appointment. We also want to extend a 20% discount offer for any future studio bookings if deposits are in by the end of March! Also if you are a recording artist and have a rig to record at home, we are offering 20% off unattended mixing and mastering sessions! Feel free to shoot us a message or email to [email protected] for details! Stay safe!

Hi Friends! We wanted to reach out and update you all and post in regards to COVID-19. First things first... The safety of our clients, friends, neighbors and employees is the most important thing to us. We are currently taking things day by day while watching the news updates and adjusting to individual situations. If you already have a session booked with us and would feel it would be better to reschedule that is totally fine. We are currently being very flexible with any booked dates that need to be rescheduled without limit as needed for the foreseeable future. That being said, we plan to rock on by appointment for those who feel safe coming out to the studio. Make the best call for your health and safety and we will do the same! We also want to address that this time is very difficult for our creative friends. If you are able, please consider buying an album or some merch from your favorite local artists and bands! If you are staying at home... write some music, share some music, and keep on rocking 🤘
