September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. In this episode of The Paid Leave Podcast, we sit down with Jared Buchanan, a relentless motivational speaker and passionate advocate for su***de prevention, dedicating his efforts in honor of his father, Officer Paul S. Buchanan, who died by su***de at his own police station in East Hartford. Jared is a Marine infantry veteran who discovered a transformative path to healing by conquering grueling ultramarathons spanning 100, 200, and 240 miles all in the memory of his father.

Jared is the focus of Beautifully Broken Documentary. This was produced by Daniel Herzog who is a documentary filmmaker, creative producer, and friend to Jared. Beautifully Broken, shows Jared accomplishing an ultramarathon and how he found healing, peace and understanding along the way.

Under the direction of the Contribution and Compliance Manager, the Accounting Careers Trainee will work with Authority staff, vendor partners, and other state agencies to support the contribution collection system, ensuring the ongoing solvency of the program.

The Accounting Careers Trainee program will introduce the candidate to working in a dynamic, collaborative, and mission-focused environment. The Trainee will gain experience in reconciliation and auditing various payroll records, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
