Every few years the marketing world gets distracted by shiny objects.

First it was websites.
Then apps.
Then funnels.
Then crypto.
Now it’s AI.

And every single time, the same thing happens:

People start chasing the technology instead of chasing the business opportunity.

That’s the mistake.

I keep seeing people online acting like AI itself is the business.

It’s not.

The business is still:

* Getting customers
* Generating leads
* Building brands
* Driving sales
* Growing revenue

That’s what businesses pay for.

Nobody wakes up and says:
“You know what I need today? More AI.”

No.

They say:
“I need more phone calls.”
“I need more customers.”
“I need more traffic.”
“I need more sales.”
“I need my business to grow.”

That’s why I keep saying:

Follow the money, not the tech.

Technology changes constantly.

The fundamentals barely change.

A roofing company still needs leads.
A local restaurant still needs customers.
A law firm still needs visibility.
A contractor still needs booked jobs.
A dealership still needs traffic.

The platform changes.
The fundamentals don’t.

AI is just the newest tool.

And honestly, the internet is becoming flooded with people selling AI to each other.

AI courses.
AI masterminds.
AI consulting.
AI SaaS tools.
AI prompt engineering.
AI automation agencies.

Meanwhile, real businesses are still spending their budgets on:

* Facebook Ads
* SEO
* OTT Advertising
* Content Creation
* Social Media
* Email Marketing
* Lead Generation

Because those things actually connect to revenue.

That’s where the money is.

I think a lot of marketers are confusing attention with value right now.

Posting AI screenshots on LinkedIn gets attention.

Actually helping businesses grow creates value.

Big difference.

The people who are going to win long-term are not the people obsessing over every new AI tool that launches every week.

The winners will be the people who understand:

* Marketing psychology
* Branding
* Media buying
* Content
* Customer acquisition

…and then use AI to become faster and more efficient.

A good copywriter with AI becomes dangerous.

A strong media buyer with AI can scale faster.

A smart business owner with AI can save time.

But the skill still matters.
