What happens when life changes in an instant?

After a serious automobile accident, Jessica Crosby found herself facing significant injuries, ongoing pain, and a life that suddenly looked very different.

In this week's Less Stress in Life podcast, Jessica joins Less Stress in Life by Deb Timmerman and me for an open conversation about grief, accepting help, continuing to do the things she loves, and finding hope when you don't know exactly what the road ahead will look like.

Her words have stayed with me: "The vision is bigger than the setback."

Did you know that MANY factors affect our pain response? I don't know about you, but the world feels pretty heavy these days. It's important to understand that stress and emotions goes hand-in-hand with our body's physical response. Do you carry muscle tension in your shoulders? Do you have headaches? Do you clench your teeth? Does your chest feel tight because you’re anxious about something? Check-in with yourself today....what do you notice?

WoW!! I didn't totally expect that ya'll would want to follow my professional page.😂 I'm overwhelmed with the response. Thank you for your interest. Moving forward, I plan to share new episodes of the podcast I co-host with Less Stress in Life by Deb Timmerman in this space, as well as other content, instead of on my personal page. So, for those of you who don't know about this podcast, check out this recent episode Deb and I did with my family doctor. She delivered both of my (very big) babies over 20 years ago and has been a BIG support to me when I co-owned First Rehab. She also prescribes my anxiety medications, which I really appreciate:) If you listen and have thoughts or questions, please feel free to post them on this FB page.

Welcome to my professional space!

I can hardly believe I've been a physical therapist for 25 years.

Over those years, I've learned so much—not just about the human body, but about people...and about myself. I've taken risks, made mistakes, celebrated successes, and grown through challenges. I've had the privilege of helping many people improve their quality of life, and every patient I've met has taught me something in return.

As I've grown in my career, I'm becoming much more intentional about the work that matters most to me. I'm passionate about caring for the whole person—not just treating an injury or diagnosis, but understanding how pain, stress, chronic illness, movement, emotions, and everyday life all influence health and recovery. Our minds and bodies are deeply connected, and I believe the best care recognizes that connection.

Many of you visiting this space have been my patients over the years. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. The relationships I've built through physical therapy are one of the greatest gifts of my career.

This year marks a new chapter for me. Along with continuing to practice physical therapy, I'm expanding my focus on chronic pain, persistent health conditions, patient education, and empowering people to better understand their bodies and advocate for their health.

If that resonates with you, I'd love for you to follow along.

Whether you've found me through the Less Stress In Life: The Empowered Wellness Series podcast or another path, welcome! My hope is that this page becomes a place to learn, ask questions, and explore the many factors that influence pain, movement, and overall well-being. I'll be sharing evidence-based education, practical strategies, and insights from 25 years as a physical therapist to help you better understand your body and feel empowered in your health journey.

Whether you're a former patient, a healthcare professional, someone living with chronic pain or illness, or simply interested in learning more, I'm grateful you're here. Thank you for being part of this journey. I'm excited to see where it leads.
