The GunCraze Core Rulebook rules are finished.
Last night, I completed the full ruleset. What remains are polish passes and final prep for print. GunCraze is intentionally easy to learn, but packed with depth for players who love meaningful character customization and tactical combat.
This is a fully classless RPG where gear, talents, positioning, and hard choices matter. Heavy weapons hit hard—but ammo, speed, and tradeoffs keep everything grounded. No hand-waving. No infinite resources. If you like systems that respect player intelligence, this one’s for you.
Version 0.99 is available now.
It’s ambitious, unpolished, and open for real feedback. Non-subscribers can grab it today on Patreon and help shape the final release.

If you run it, question it, or break it—that’s exactly the point.
Good morning!
Important Note: If you subscribe to the Patreon for just 3$, you can also get this document. I will continue to update this singular post until the Rulebook is Published. So if you buy the post for $20 (one time support), you will also get every final fix update until release.
Last night, I officially finished writing the rules for the GunCraze Core Rulebook. At this point, only minor fixes remain before publishing day. While the system offers a lot of depth and long-term mastery, the core concepts themselves are intentionally easy to grasp, and most people pick them up very quickly. Character creation is very deep, and players who love meaningful customization are going to feel right at home.
So what’s next? Polishing the book’s imagery, and then tackling one of the hardest parts of the process: getting Kindle to properly produce paperback and hardcover versions from the PDF.
Alongside that, I’m hoping to get more playtest sessions going. Today I’ll be running a character creation demonstration at my awesome FLGS, Rules of Engagement in Havelock, NC. This is always important to me, because I want people to build the characters they want to play, not feel boxed in by rigid classes.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing a truly classless system. Yes, the character with the machine gun can mow things down—but without investing heavily in Talents, they’re also the slowest person on the field. And if the Gun Master is enforcing ammunition rules, that advantage disappears fast. Ignoring ammo counts is an easy out, but that would be like telling a sorcerer, “Don’t worry about spells per day, just cast forever.” Heavy weapons must be managed.
Right now, what’s available is Version 0.99. It’s unpolished, unedited, and I still need to read it cover to cover in one full pass. It’s also extremely ambitious.
If you want to get your hands on it today, the 0.99 version is available on my Patreon, even if you’re not a subscriber. This is your chance to dig in early, run it, break it, and help shape the final release.
