⚔️ THE BEASTMASTER — 44 YEARS OF SWORD & SORCERY ⚔️

Released in August of 1982, The Beastmaster belongs to that glorious era when fantasy movies weren't afraid to get weird, dark and completely over the top.

Dar. Sharak. Kodo and Podo. The black tiger. Maax. The Kapa. The Jun horde. The Death Guards.

This movie had everything.

For those of us who grew up during that explosion of late-'70s and early-'80s fantasy, movies like The Beastmaster became part of the same creative stew as Dungeons & Dragons, Conan, Excalibur, Clash of the Titans, Heavy Metal and the fantasy artwork covering the books and games we were discovering.

They made us want to pick up a sword.

Explore the ruined temple.

Fight the evil sorcerer.

Roll the dice.

And find out what was waiting beyond the next hill.

On a personal note, I saw The Beastmaster in the theater with my brothers when I was four years old.

Because apparently that was considered perfectly reasonable parenting in 1982.

It was the '80s, man.

Forty-four years later, we're still rolling dice, telling stories and chasing some of that same magic.

From all of us at Galahad Games:

⚔️ Hail Dar. Hail the Beastmaster. ⚔️

Keep the old fires burning.

From the dark depths... and back again.

Today we raise a lantern to H. P. Lovecraft, born August 20, 1890—the writer whose tales of forbidden knowledge, ancient gods, and things waiting beyond the stars helped shape cosmic horror forever.

His influence crawled far beyond the pages of weird fiction and into the dark corners of fantasy, horror, gaming, and the worlds we explore around the tabletop.

So tonight, dim the lights, roll the strange dice, and remember:

Some doors were sealed for a reason.

Happy Birthday, H. P. Lovecraft.

From the dark depths... and back again.

Hey everyone! It's been a little while since my last update, but we've been busy here at Galahad Games!

I just got back from North Texas RPG Con, and I have to say—they did an outstanding job. It was a fantastic convention, I met some amazing people, ran some great games, and came home even more inspired for what's ahead.

Next up for me is Shire Con, and I'm really looking forward to it! If you've never been, it's a fantastic convention with a great community, and I'm excited to bring Galahad Games there. I hope to see many of you around the table!

As for OSR CON, we're hard at work behind the scenes. Dates for the next convention will be announced soon, along with guest announcements, event news, and much more.

Stay tuned—there's a lot happening at Galahad Games, and we're just getting started.

Thanks for all of your support, and I'll see you at the table!
