Christina Aguilera Really Was That Girl At The 2008 VMAs.

The pop superstar arrived in a sparkling black Roberto Cavalli gown, platinum blonde hair and dramatic smoky eyes. And honestly, the look still hits.

But this wasn’t just another red carpet moment. Aguilera was stepping into a whole new era, leaving the vintage glamour of Back to Basics behind for something sleeker, darker and far more futuristic.

Then she took that transformation to the stage.

Later that night, Aguilera debuted her new sound with a futuristic medley of “Genie 2.0” and “Keeps Gettin’ Better.” Out went the glamorous gown. In came a leather catsuit, mask and an entirely different persona.

Nearly 20 years later, that 2008 VMAs glam still feels criminally underrated. She didn’t just show up. She announced a new era.

Selena Gomez is officially making the switch from summer to fall fashion.

The actress was spotted heading to dinner in Los Angeles wearing a head-to-toe black leather look that definitely caught attention.

She paired a $3,900 Khaite leather midi skirt with a matching $5,900 leather jacket, creating one seriously luxe all-black outfit.

Gomez finished the look with a coordinated black clutch, pointed-toe Saint Laurent heels, gold hoop earrings and retro-style sunglasses.

The outfit is a pretty big change from the sundresses, linen sets and colorful bikinis she wore throughout the summer.

She recently returned to the US after an extended Italian trip with husband Benny Blanco, where the couple visited several destinations including Venice, Florence, Rome and Tuscany.

Now she's back just in time for the Emmy Awards, and apparently ready for leather season. 🖤

Drew Barrymore and Liv Tyler turned the 1999 Oscars into their own little party.

The close friends arrived together at the 71st Academy Awards on March 21, 1999, and quickly became one of the night’s most memorable moments.

Instead of sticking to stiff red carpet poses, the pair laughed, played around and even shared a cheeky kiss for the cameras.

Peak late-’90s Hollywood, basically.

Tyler kept things sleek in a minimalist black gown, while Barrymore went full ’90s with a strapless dress and seriously bold body glitter.

And somehow, it all worked.

More than two decades later, those candid snaps still regularly resurface online, capturing a version of Hollywood that felt less polished and far more spontaneous.

Honestly, if you want one photo that screams rebellious ’90s celebrity cool, this might be it.

Jenna Ortega bleached her eyebrows, and the internet immediately had thoughts.

The dramatic beauty switch left fans divided. Some missed her signature dark brows and felt the lighter look changed her face completely.

Others? They were obsessed.

The bleached-brow trend has always been a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it situation. It gives your face a more striking, editorial edge, and Jenna’s version fit perfectly with her gothic style.

But the reaction said something bigger.

People had become so used to Jenna’s signature look that changing one tiny detail, her brows, was enough to send social media into full debate mode.

And Jenna didn’t exactly look bothered.

She confidently owned the experimental look, turning what could’ve been a risky beauty switch into one of her most memorable style moments.

Honestly, if your eyebrows can cause this much chaos, you’re probably doing something right.

Juliet Landau didn’t exactly audition for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The role basically found her.

Landau became one of the show’s most unforgettable villains as Drusilla, Spike’s creepy, unpredictable vampire lover. But producers had already noticed her work in Ed Wood, so they brought her in for a meeting and reportedly offered her the part soon after.

And then there’s the family connection.

Landau is the daughter of Martin Landau, who won an Oscar for playing legendary Dracula actor Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood.

So that joke about Juliet being “Dracula’s daughter” isn’t literally true.

But honestly, the casting coincidence is almost too perfect.

Her dad played Dracula. She went on to play a vampire. Hollywood really does love a full-circle moment.

Kim Jo-hyun turned heads at the Karlovy Vary premiere in a fitted burgundy dress.

But instead of focusing on the project, parts of social media quickly became obsessed with how the outfit looked around her body.

And just like that, a red carpet appearance became another online body-analysis session.

So what’s the problem?

It’s a familiar one.

A dress can look completely different depending on the fabric, seams, lighting, camera angle and even how someone moves.

Yet a handful of screenshots can send social media into detective mode, with strangers picking apart details that may look totally different in real life.

The bigger question is why celebrity fashion so quickly becomes commentary about someone’s body.

Kim’s dress was the outfit.

Somehow, the internet decided her body was the story.

Sandra Bullock Gave Amy Poehler The Perfect Setup Without Even Trying

Sandra Bullock had Amy Poehler absolutely losing it after one innocent question went spectacularly off the rails.

During the September 8 episode of Good Hang, Amy asked Sandra how she likes to get her protein. Sandra’s answer? One word: “Thick.”

The problem was, Sandra immediately heard how that sounded.

She accused Amy of setting her up, but Amy insisted she was genuinely talking about food, specifically things like chicken, salmon and Greek yogurt.

And honestly, once Sandra said it, there was no coming back.

The exchange quickly became one of the episode’s standout moments, proving that sometimes the funniest jokes happen completely by accident.

Sandra may have been answering a perfectly normal nutrition question, but her brain clearly took the scenic route.

The 2000s gave Hollywood a pair of instantly recognisable Latina stars: Roselyn Sánchez and Sofia Vergara.

You couldn’t miss them. Between film roles, TV appearances and plenty of media attention, both actresses became familiar faces far beyond Latin American audiences.

But their rise wasn’t happening in a vacuum.

At the time, Latina actresses were gaining more visibility across mainstream entertainment. Sánchez and Vergara were part of that shift, building careers that helped put Latina talent firmly in the spotlight.

Their success also showed just how quickly pop culture was changing. Audiences were seeing more Latina women on screen, while stars like Sánchez and Vergara were becoming names people knew well beyond their own communities.

And looking back, the 2000s clearly marked a turning point.

Samara Weaving could absolutely eat up the role of Emma Frost. But there’s one catch: Marvel needs to give her a script worth sinking her teeth into.

Emma can’t just be the glamorous blonde mutant. She needs wit, elegance, confidence, vulnerability, authority, and just enough danger to keep you guessing. Thankfully, Weaving has already shown she can bring plenty of those qualities to the screen.

Give her sharp dialogue and meaningful character development, and she could make Emma genuinely unforgettable. The best version of the character should be able to silence a room with a look, then completely pull you in when that carefully controlled exterior starts to crack.

Weaving has the screen presence to dominate scenes without trying too hard. Now she just needs the writing to match it.

Get Emma right, and Samara could steal the entire X-Men spotlight.
