Crappy weather has landed and honestly I (Carl) used to really hate the rain.

But a friend once said, “Rain is just sunlight in disguise, no weather can stop those on the path to becoming their best self.”

Somehow.. that changed everything

So we stayed in, cooked dinner, and remembered that not every plan needs sunshine, just intention ☁️ ✨

Used to think being positive meant being happy all the time. We’ve come to realize that it’s really about what you notice. The more we started paying attention to things we’ve accomplished from big wins to the smallest, rather than what we haven’t, made it easier to see the good. Even on the messy days.

If you’re trying to be more positive, start small
✨notice one thing that didn’t go wrong
✨say something kind to yourself
✨let a small moment feel big for a bit

We thought we were looking for a new country to live in. But after 22 countries, we realized what we were really searching for was a way to slow down. Portugal reminded us that home isn’t a destination - it’s a feeling built from the smallest things

We didn’t know what to expect from a visit from an uncle and aunt on my sister-in-law’s side… We’ve never spent much time with them. Just a few Filipino family parties and I think we all know how crazy and hectic and overwhelming those events can be.

Honestly, it ended up teaching us something beautiful. Real connection doesn’t need to be built over years. Just shared time was needed. Our conversations went into the night where we lost track of time. The only thing that would have made it better would be if they stayed longer. We are blessed to have connected with you both and can’t wait until you either visit again or move here!! Love you guys!!

Love is the little things adding up.

Over the years, we’ve learned that love is rarely about one big moment. It’s found in the quiet gestures, the everyday moments, and all the little ways we prioritize each other.

It’s all the ways we’ve said “I love you” — without saying it.

We chased “nice nights out” but now cozying up at home playing video games watching K dramas or cooking a nicer meal and has become our new date nights. No rush, no unwanted noises, just us and some shrimpy pasta.

Also, I did not mean to start “rapping” but this song and my script just felt fun haha.

💭anyone else in their “homebody era?”

Sometimes the plan doesn’t unfold the way you pictured it — and that can feel frustrating in the moment.

But lately we’ve been realizing that “off track” doesn’t always mean “off course.”

The best parts of a day are rarely the ones we planned anyway

I seriously have super challenging hobbies. Hard hobbies are funny though. They push you, frustrate you, and still — I come back for more. It really just takes that one good shot to keep me coming backing. It’s like somewhere in the struggle, there’s joy! ⛳️✨

Kaka, our Bali dog🐶.. real name,Kacang (not pronounced how you think it is) means "peanut" in Bahasa Indonesia.

Kaka LOVES❤️ to dig in the sand but she absolutely is terrified of the ocean 🌊 (working on that). So, it's always an adventure when we go to the beach🏖.

What are some of the things your furbabies love and hate doing?

A mini scrapbook for July: it's been a big and hot and windy summer so far 😜 but that's pretty typical, now that it's our second summer here we know what to expect.

Recap: we've gone into Lisbon more times in this month than the rest of the year combined, hosted more friends, revisited a favorite hike in Sintra and found more delicious eats in our neighborhood.

Stay tuned for more hot news 😆

To celebrate our 3 years of marriage - we’ve come up with our top 3 tips on how to grow a strong relationship:

It’s not the fighting that breaks most relationships, it’s what gets left unsaid. Every little thing becomes an opportunity for us to live our lives together. And it doesn’t matter how long your relationship has lasted, the truth is: learning how to communicate never ends.
Romnce is a feeling and those are just temporary. Which is why the longer the relationship, the harder it is to maintain romance! But all it really takes is showing a little extra effort, which demonstrates that we believe they, and our relationship, are worth the “trouble”.

People will change. Committing to a relationship is not just about who you guys are now, but about believing in who you guys will become - together. And that’s what being a partner is: making and protecting the room to grow and promising to be there to witness it.

So getting married isn’t an ending, it’s a new beginning.
