We are grateful to welcome three new members to Heber Valley Bible Church! Church membership is more than having your name on a list. It is a commitment to worship, serve, grow, and walk together as part of a local body of believers.

Scripture reminds us that “we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” (Romans 12:5).

We praise God for continuing to bring believers together here in Heber City, Utah, and we are thankful for the opportunity to shepherd, disciple, and serve alongside these new members.

Ministry becomes dangerous the moment we start believing it is about us.

In Luke 9:1–9, Jesus gave the Twelve power and authority, sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God, and worked through them in extraordinary ways.

But the power was not theirs.

The message was not about them.

And the glory did not belong to them.

They were servants pointing people to the King.

That is still the calling of every Christian. Whatever gifts, opportunities, influence, or ministry God gives us should make Christ more visible, not us more impressive.

John the Baptist understood this when he said:
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” — John 3:30

That should be the heart of Christian ministry.

Not: How can people notice me?

But: How can I faithfully point them to Christ?

Not building our name, but proclaiming His.

Not seeking our glory, but His.

Life and ministry are not about us and that is a very good thing.

Faithful fellowship often looks wonderfully ordinary: an open home, a backyard full of children, and believers gladly serving one another.

One of our church families recently hosted a Parents’ Night Out, giving parents an evening to rest and reconnect while their children enjoyed a movie under the stars.

We are thankful for members who use their homes, time, and energy to care for the body of Christ.

“Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another” (1 Peter 4:9–10).

This is church family: sharing life, bearing burdens, and serving one another with joy.

Denying God does not explain why anything exists.

If the universe began, it could not have caused its own beginning.

Something cannot exist before it exists.

Eventually, we need a reality that does not receive existence from anything else,

Eternal, uncaused, and self-existent.

That does not mean God created Himself. It means He never began to exist and depends on nothing outside Himself.

“From everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” - Psalm 90:2

The universe is dependent.

God is not.

The cosmological argument does not prove every truth of Christianity, but it points beyond creation to a Creator.

And the conversation should not stop there.

The Creator has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ.
