I’ve been stopping by this tree since I was young.
Sometimes I wonder… if this old tree could talk, what stories would it tell?
Imagine the wildlife that has passed beneath its branches. The elk and deer, the bears, the birds, and generations of people traveling through these mountains. Think of the winters it has endured, the deep snow, the summer heat, the wind, the thunderstorms, and countless Montana sunrises over the Swan Range.
Part of this tree is dying now. It’s weathered, scarred, and showing its age. But every morning, what remains still reaches toward the Montana sky.
There’s something powerful about that.
Life doesn’t require us to be untouched by the storms. It asks us to keep standing after they pass.
I grew up hunting, fishing, exploring, and making memories in the Swan Range. Coming back here takes me to another time—a time filled with family, adventure, freedom, and some truly magical memories.
This old tree reminds me that everything changes. Seasons come and go. People come and go. We get older. We collect a few scars.
But as long as we’re standing, there’s another sunrise waiting.
Keep growing. Keep standing. Keep taking life on. 🌲🏔️
