Aiello Studios Aiello Studios provides photographic art to art consultants, interior designers & collectors.

As photographers we strive to create beautiful, evocative, and inspiring images to enrich the lives of those that view them. Our approach is to interpret the essence of each subject through the combination of light, shadow, form, and texture – plus imagination. The resulting image is not always realistic or literal, yet within its borders the goal is to appear perfectly natural.

From photograph to reimagined digital art, this piece began as our own image of Paper White Daffodils. We started with a GPT-5 palette change test (you can see the process in our latest Substack article, linked below), shifting the blooms into a range of tranquil icy blues.

In Photoshop, we layered multiple exposure effects to add subtle motion and depth, then finished with a soft texture to the background. The mood is calm and reflective, making it an ideal choice for wall art in healthcare, hospitality, or simply any space where a serene atmosphere is welcome.

Is GPT-5 actually better for photographers or just more AI hype?

I asked GPT-5 to list its own pros and cons compared to GPT-4o, then put that against my experience with real-world editing workflows.

Over the next month, I’ll be running side-by-side comparison tests between GPT-5, Flux.1 Kontext, and Midjourney Retexture on four editing tasks photographers commonly use:

Week 1: Change palette & add texture
Week 2: Adjust lighting direction & consistency
Week 3: Selective depth-of-field changes
Week 4: Realistic object removal & scene fill

Please read the first introductory installment today by clicking the image or link below.

This is the first installment in a five-part series testing and comparing the leading contenders as an AI-based photo editing platform: ChatGPT-5, Flux.1 Kontext, and Midjourney's Retexture.

Another image from our ongoing Floral Fantasy series. Through AI transformation, we reshaped the petals of a flower photo into forms that feel more like soft fabric than actual flora. The pink, cream, and green colors of the flower flow alongside each other with a gentle rhythm and motion.

The result isn’t meant to call attention to itself but to blend in, bringing a subtle presence to the space it occupies. Art like this can soften a room, offer a moment of visual pause, or gently echo the calm and care that a space intends to provide.

We often consider how color, flow, and form contribute not only to a composition but also to how people feel when they view it. Whether it’s a healthcare or hospitality setting, or a quiet corner in a residence, our goal is to enhance the environment, not compete with it.

Sometimes we like to present just enough interpretation to invite a longer look. This Gerbera Daisy started as a traditional studio photograph and image stack, which we later transformed through a series of digital and AI-based steps. We used several conventional photo textures and composited them in Photoshop, blending hand-crafted elements with AI-assisted refinements to bring out a subtle painterly atmosphere while preserving the structural integrity of the flower and original photo.

We’ve published an editorial today: Why Trump’s “AI Action Plan” Misses the Mark. It’s not just about politics. It’s about how rushed policy affects artists, states, the environment, and the future of AI development itself.

We support strong U.S. leadership in AI. But this isn't the way. The plan ignores the rights of creatives, bypasses Congress entirely, and cuts environmental safeguards in favor of big tech and big money.

And yes, we reference Dr. Strangelove, because this executive order feels oddly similar. While not quite a doomsday machine, it feels rushed, unbalanced, and written without consideration for the people it affects most —everyone. I hope you’ll take a look.

You may have missed this one in the news. In this editorial, I discuss why America can and should lead in AI innovation, but not at the expense of artists, states’ rights, or the environment.

From our Floral Fantasy series, this artwork began as one of our original photographs and evolved into something new.

While many of our photography-based AI images preserve the subject’s structure, this piece takes a different path, reimagining shapes, color, and texture until the original form gives way to this flowing abstract. The transformation was made with Midjourney, Photoshop, and On1 Photo Raw.

It’s an example of how AI can be used not only to enhance but to abstract, turning a photograph into a digital art piece that, while reminiscent of the original, offers a different visual experience.

This close-up captures the vibrant beauty and almost ornament-like appearance of the Chinese Lantern. We like the intricate details and vivid colors that make it a versatile addition to any space. It is ideal for creating a fun, warm, inviting atmosphere in healthcare, senior living, corporate, hospitality, and upscale residential settings.

We just published a new editorial on how Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could reshape photography, not by replacing creativity, but by working alongside it. Inspired by the documentary The Thinking Game (available on Amazon Prime Video), this article explores what happens when image-making becomes a shared process between artist and machine that can think and learn on its own.

We use AI to support our photographic vision, not replace it — and that distinction may matter more than ever with the next generation of AI.

We created this image of a Blue Glow Agave in the early spring of last year. The shallow depth of field and gentle glow give the image a more interpretive feel, allowing the agave's graphic form to stand out against the warm background of blurred wildflowers.

This type of image lends itself well to wall art applications in spaces seeking a contemporary, biophilic element that feels organic yet refined. It's especially well-suited for settings like healthcare, hospitality, and modern workspaces, where calm structure and soft color harmonies can help create a welcoming atmosphere.

We recently reimagined a Camellia photograph as a layered abstract by creating a simulated multiple exposure in Photoshop. The layering effect highlights the soft textures and overlapping forms of the petals, providing a subtle interpretation of this familiar flower while introducing a sense of motion. We then enhanced the image with painterly treatments in Topaz Studio and tonal adjustments in On1 Photo Raw to bring out its soft textures and gentle flow.

It’s a piece that can fit into spaces where an organic, calming focal point is desired, especially in environments that embrace elements of biophilic design.
