I just discovered this gem Bobby Bare says was inspired by a conversation he had with Hoyt. This song is among my newer favorites. Love the album version, but this live version, is special 'cause he tells of that conversation, and it is just as if we have also become friends with Hoyt. I do hope you listen to this - and the studio version. THIS is what the genre of country music was made for.

Wow. Almost a year now since we announced the beginning of this project full of magic and music. Since then, we have gathered 21 beautiful friends as our patrons who continue to help us move forward. You know about our fascination with Mae Axton's house here in our neighborhood. We have been fortunate to connect with Bill Breedlove and Cornelia Andrews, whose family built this house, and this photo came up in recent discovery. Seems Vicki Carr (a known artist in MOR radio at the time) in her 1970 album spent some time with Mae while she was recording here, and this photo is in the the vinyl album liner of "Nashville By Carr". Thanks to our friends for helping us with our history research.

That fence is long gone, BTW.

We discover more and more each day how many stories there are INSIDE the story that drives the movie we've set out to create. For instance, there's this unassuming little street here in our town of Hendersonville. These three pictures from this street hint at a bunch of them.

We are grateful to our patrons who got to see the direction of our story which begins in this photo. It is delightful to be allowed to be creative enough to find a starting place for such a large endeavor.

I am fortunate to have a canvass on which to paint some of my beliefs, like how the "afterlife" is a misnomer. And through the lens of Hoyt Axton as the tour guide, of all people! "Being John Malkovich Goes To The Rodeo". Watch this space, too. Historically, Space Cowboys came to be in this fun narrative.

There have been discussions among our team members lately about the success of Nudie's entertainment establishment (BAR) on Lo-Bro, and the family name belonging to the clothing designer that Nashville made famous. If you've ever heard of a Nudie Suit, here's is an example with our hero as model.

You cannot convince me, Harold Hill, that there isn't a wonderful movie to be made about this guy and the music he created. The bonus made bare (Nudie, get it? Yes, I'm 15) here will be a wardrobe department, and this will be definitely be part of the 60's memories ensemble.

It is also great to see so many people from Oklahoma and Montana visiting with us on this page and looking at our short movie about making a big movie about Hoyt.

Mae had much to be proud of with her family and their civic dedication. It is my understanding that she was as much of an encourager as anyone in Nashville to a whole generation of singer/songwriters, some of them now the biggest names in country music.

She sure was well regarded as a neighbor where I live, too. It is a lot of fun now that we've started this, having people contact us with their stories of Mae and her kindness. Good stuff!

Our short movie has an element of how we're concerned about the condition of the house Mae Axton owned and lived in just down the street from us in Hendersonville.

I hope others will see that there is also value in our efforts to make this house remembered in some way because of Mae's life there.

I bring it up because there are many ties to Hoyt Axton all around where we are, including this guy. Jim Varney was in a prime time TV show with...Hoyt Axton. A lot of show biz points to one of the heroes of OUR movie. Surely you can see why we want to make this film about Hoyt Axton. :-)
