Hey, folks here’s something fun to participate in for the Richmond International Airport (RIC)in our part of the county.

RVA, we need your help! In 2026, a 24-foot-tall sculpture will be arriving at the airport featuring our state flower/tree, the dogwood, and three hummingbirds. Our birds need names!

Please submit three names in the comment section beginning with the letter "H" (i.e., Hubert the Hummingbird, Hannah the Hummingbird, etc.). Stay tuned for a chance to vote on the top submitted names! 🌸🌸🌸

With so many families feeling the strain right now, we want to do what we can to lend a hand close to home. Throughout the month of November, we’ll be collecting food donations here at the hospital to support Feedmore - specifically here in Varina.

If you’d like to join us, donations can be dropped off during our regular business hours. There’s a table up front in the lobby and we’ll make sure items get where they need to go several times a week, and the same day for any fresh foods like vegetables, dairy, or meat.

⚠️ TRAIL ALERT: A small section of the Capital Trail will be temporarily closed on Wednesday (10/29) between MM 47 & MM 48 in Henrico County, near the Varina Veterinary Clinic.

Construction is scheduled from 9 am to 2 pm. Trail users will be detoured onto Route 5 to navigate around the closure. Please use caution, follow posted signs, and plan your route accordingly.
