MY NAME IS "GOLDY"~~~That makes me kinda special....Special enough to stand out.....Special enough to catch the attention of some strangers who came by to meet me at Anderson in Illinois.......

GOOD NEWS~~WE ARE NO LONGER STRANGERS~~THEY TOOK ME HOME~~YESTERDAY ROCKED~~I AM ADOPTED!!! ❤️

Another happy ending to a tale of woe. Thank you!

FOR ALL CHRISTMASES TO COME……🎄🎄

As it comes as no surprise, things started out pretty rough for this beauty & the odds were stacked against her…..It was way back around April…..Many, many miles from here; around the Beggs/Hectorville area…..

A lonesome 4-5 year old dog was found roaming a rural area, more than likely dumped by her original owners…No collar or tags….No proof of where she belonged….What she did have were VERY SWOLLEN FEET, missing her nails….Had she walked so far, she wore her nails off?? Was she trying desperately to be loyal as all dogs are, to locate those whom she loved & would travel miles trying to do the right thing in search of them??

By a small miracle, her journey would lead her to us at HAART…..We knew our work was cut out for us, as there are 1000’s of deserving Pit Bulls needing homes, all over the country…..We had no long term foster, so she was treated & boarded at the Mounds Kennel for a few months……(Thank you donors!😘)

Then, another stroke of luck…..Another rescuer, who also boards dogs at the kennel, took the time to shoot a video of her & post it on his FB page…..He linked his video to HAART…..(Thank you TONY!!😘)

All of the sudden, 3 messages came in asking questions…..One of those messages would end up being most productive and very much sincere….🙏

MY NAME IS “IVY”🌿….They gave me a pretty name because I’m a pretty girl…..I don’t know why someone left me all alone in rural Oklahoma….I looked & looked for them, but they went too far away for me to find.….

My NEW MOM says, “I’m the best dog she has every had!!” She & her son adore me & have blessed me with what all dogs dream of…..Although the road to get here was very rough, my reward has been repaid, tenfold…..

I have the greatest gift for the holidays; A loyal, loving family for me, a loyal, loving dog…..💝

I AM HOME THIS CHRISTMAS~~My past is behind me~~I AM ADOPTED!!

(AND FOR~~ALL CHRISTMASES TO COME)🎉🎉🎉

THEY SHOULD BE ARRIVING.....👏👏👏

Right at SIXTY FIVE unwanted Oklahoma dogs are just arriving in Illinois as we speak.....Their destinations are Anderson Animal Shelter & Paws Chicago....

Five hours ago, we had them tracked on the road with 99 degrees registering on their van thermometer as they were rolling towards home....

65 unwanted souls are right now beginning their happily ever afters at 2 wonderful no-kill shelters in Illinois....All because folks donate to Oklahoma rescues who then can save them, get them medical treatment, spay/neuter, submit them to partnering rescues, pay their transport fees & get them out of here and on to a second chance....

We at HAART have several on board this transport which left at 5:00 AM....Some you will know & some I never had a chance to show you....But just the same, they will be provided what we in Oklahoma cannot give them...Mainly, adoptive homes for ALL!!!

Let's see who they are:

Our Sweet "JOSIE"~~She and her two friends were going to be shot & killed the following day in Graham, OK, after we received the message at our office...This was June 7th.....Thankfully, we got that message in time.....Goodness!!!

"POLLY POCKET"~~You don't know her, nor did I until yesterday.....She was a favor for another rescue in Tulsa who deals with only cats....They paid her bills, but asked us for help finding a place for her to go...Yup, we did!! ❤

"NO NAMES"~~I just got the details on this family yesterday....I do not have their names, but do need to find out for my records.....A deaf momma who lays in the middle of a rural road around Hectorville....Her FIVE, 6 month old puppies who were struggling on the property as well.....I only have a couple of photos of them & all are not pictured....The momma is the smallest of the bunch.....They were chosen by Anderson only if everything was complete by transport time.....We scrambled & managed to have all 6 completely vetted, vaccinated, wormed, flea/tick product & spays/neuters just yesterday.....Whew!! They got to go!!!

Then~~There's the FOUR tiny tots dumped/abandoned out at Henryetta Lake a couple weeks ago.....They were on our page July 6th....The lady who found them went above & beyond to provide for them & keep them safe for us.....There were originally 7 puppies, but she had already given 3 away before she found us.....These four got very lucky!!! I promise!!!

And, let's see......I guess that's all for now.....How many is that???

TWELVE.....Twelve HAART dogs received quite a blessing today.....The blessing of futures out of Oklahoma & forever families to love them in Illinois.....It's only a matter of time!!!

I will do my best to track them for the next several weeks, so we can show you who has been adopted!!! 😀

Bless you for helping us with donations, so we could help these TWELVE, whose original owners in Oklahoma, didn't want to mess with!!! We're glad they are in good hands with our friends in Illinois!!! We're feeling relieved, for sure!!!

I prayed all day for the transport drivers~~The dangerous temps make travel very hard & with dogs on board, it could be a disaster.....My prayers were answered!!!

THEY HAVE ARRIVED!!!! 💓💓💓💓

I'M BROKEN~~BROKEN BADLY 😧 (It's a long one)

"Hello...I'm "WILLIE WONKA" & I'm broken very badly....I don't know what my future holds, but I have some friends who say they will help me as best they can..... I guess I've never had any friends!"

I've been putting this one off for many reasons...#1-I don't want to think about it!! The whole thing sent me into orbit~~Every bit of it!!! #2- It haunts me & I literally want to strangle people!!! #3-I'm very tired of animals being dumped & have to suffer around here!!! 😡 We've just had too much to contend with, too much to do, too much to try to pay for & too much to report....

OK, First, I named him Willie Wonka because he officially does not have a name....I don't know why this name popped in my head but it did, plus he needed one....

I'm gonna tell this one the best I can & try very hard to not lose my temper....

The original message came in last Thursday evening at 7:00 PM....I didn't get it until later, so I worried myself sick....I waited until 1:43 AM until our director got up to go to her regular job, so I could get the message to her....Then, she had to worry herself sick as well! 😖

Message:
"I live about 3 miles west of town and someone has dumped two dogs on the side of the road and they have found their way to my house. One has a limp but can get around and the other one has two broken legs in the back or broken hips. It was in my yard when I pulled up today and I thought it was dead. But it got up and walked off on it's two front legs when we pulled up. It's so sad. I don't want the coyotes or the bobcat that stays around our pond to get it. I was wondering if there was anything u could do."

😳 OH MY!!!! By morning we had a phone number and a location...The lady met our director there at noon.

What we found: A young little guy sitting close to the house on the property....He came dragging himself to our director .....Help had arrived & for whatever reason, Willie knew it....She picked him up and raced to our Vet as fast as she could.....

We were praying for a broken leg or foot or two, but unfortunately that is not what we got.....We prayed hard, but it didn't work out....

I'm not going to describe much more.....Look at the X-rays.....You'll be able to see....He's really, really broken!!! Sure bet it hurt when this all happened to him & he had no where to go, but to drag himself from the highway to anywhere he could, looking desperately for help & probably crying all the way!!!

We have been given a few options to try to fix him, but none are within our reach and never will be.....So far, He has been seen at two different clinics & boarded at 2 different Vets in their hospitals.....As it stands~~We will be lucky to pay just his original Vet exams, boarding & X-rays at both places....

Anyway, we wanted you to meet sweet "WILLIE'....You can't believe how grateful he is....He's so friendly & loving....He tries to wag that tail, but it's only kind of a wiggle....😉 He likes staying at the Vet offices; I'm sure because they are warm, have blankets, give him food & pay him some attention....He's still at a Veterinary Clinic out of town, but we have to get him out, very soon.....

He's literally skin & bones...Starved, beat up, multiple fractures, multiple lacerations from being hit by a car we're sure.....BUT THAT FACE?...Isn't he cute??? I'm also thinking we were told he's been shot as well, but I'm hoping I dreamed it.....We were very upset by that point!!!

I guess the only good news is the Coyotes or Bobcat didnt tear him to smithereens and make him suffer more.....He wouldn't have stood a chance!!! NOT A CHANCE....

HE'S BROKEN, but very much alive & Yes, we cried.....Wouldn't you???

To be continued, eventually.....Well, Maybe.....Honestly, I may never come back!!!!

URGENT, URGENT AT HENRYETTA CITY POUND.....

This is the Female German Shepherd we thought was at the city pound, but had no proof....SHE IS THERE & has been since last Wednesday....

Someone picked her up (And her bedding supplied by another concerned citizen) at Nichol's Park, took her home & it appears, called Animal Control to come get her....

She's very sweet, but it takes a little to win her over....She's cautious, but NOT aggressive....Just scared....

Since animal control was out of pocket a few days last week, those days will not count....She will have until Wednesday of the upcoming week before she is euthanized thru the city....

If you can help her, PLEASE DO....Also, Please SHARE her on your pages to give her a better opportunity of being saved.....Thank you for helping.....

URGENT AT HENRYETTA CITY POUND......

This guy is at our pound...He's been there since last week, but we were not able to get photos until now...

HE's a NEUTERED MALE....(That's nice to see for a change!!) 🙂 Clean cut, appears healthy, wearing a turquoise collar w/ a bone shaped buckle....Picked up on Main Street, possibly last weekend...

He's really howling and barking because he wants to go home.....Anyone recognize him or know his owners???

Unfortunately, the pound is closed until Monday morning, but this guy is fortunate, he has not already been euthanized.....We believe he has been there right at a week!!!

PLEASE SHARE far & wide.....He needs his family to come for him, quickly!!!! Thanks

THEN IT HAPPENED.....(It's long!!!)

September 11th: These two cuties were called to our attention....(Original photo included) We cringed, as we were bombarded with dogs needing help at the same time....These two wandered up to a home in Schulter & we prayed their owners would be looking for them....They were just too wonderful for someone to throw away or not come look for or so we thought!!

Unfortunately, it seemed that was not going to be the case....We waited; for days we went over what we could do with them....It weighed heavy on our minds....We couldn't add more expenses to our outstanding Vet bill, we had no foster home for them, we could not board them at Mounds, so now what????

September 19th: I posted them on our page again.....Hoping owners would find them...They were in danger of predators where they were, the homeowner told us there was no fence....She also, could not feed them much longer....Plus, a possible pregnancy for the little blonde one.....Ugh!!!

We did not ask for any funding....We knew we could not take on the responsibility of 2 more dogs, with so many others still in our program & so many requests for help......THEN IT HAPPENED....

THREE surprise paypal notices....THREE donations....Dated the very date for these two little ones!!! ENOUGH funding to have them checked out at our Vet AND also boarded at the Vet for a few days to buy us some time & keep them safe.....THIS COULD WORK!!!

Arrangements were made for the homeowner to get them dropped off at our Vet's office the next day.....

September 20th: What we found: Two, 20ish pound kids, eaten up with fleas & ticks....Both only around 2 years old....The tri-colored male "RUFF" had a very bad infected, damaged canine tooth that needed extracted & antibiotics.....He also was neutered....The little blonde female "LADY BUG" was treated for fleas/ticks, but nothing else....She was already lactating with possible delivery any day.....OH NO!!! Our Vet said the clinic was not in her best interest, we knew that, but there was no where for us to take her for her comfort.....

We tried.....If nothings available, then nothings available....That's how it works, yet so many people want us to do so much more.....I knew these expenses were gonna be more than we had......It always seems to be such a struggle!!

THEN IT HAPPENED....September 26th~~A lady we know in Okmulgee offered the female a place for a few days....She would take her in.....A place where "LADY BUG" could birth & have her little ones... Another lady responded to give the little guy a place, but she needed a few days....So grateful!!!

THEN, MORE HAPPENED.....Interestingly, just in the nick of time & only a few hours after foster was provided, a message arrives at 2:14 A.M. on Sept. 27th that reads: "4 Brown, 1 Black, Momma is doing great!"

Whew!!, This rescue of 2 little doggies has grown considerably!!! Now, we have SEVEN.....

ANOTHER HAPPENING.....Thursday, September 28th: We received word that Anderson Animal Shelter would welcome this family in Illinois if we could get everything complete to get them there.....They would find them their forever homes.... Arrangements were made, medical was completed, transport fees were paid & this little family is safe in S. Elgin, Illinois as of Monday, October 2nd .....Know why???

Because I HAPPENED to see 3 surprise donations that would pay their way!!! Thank you to those who support our endeavors.....Thank you from all these dogs we try to save.....This family of seven are safe & have a future because of YOU!!!

Our best wishes go to "RUFF" & sweet "LADY BUG" and her kidlets.....All these "HAPPENINGS" fell into perfect place & as luck would have it, "IT WORKED"!!! 💕🐾💕🐾
