I'm not far from Kennedy airport and the take-off pattern had the planes heading east from the runways around the same time the eclipse was in progress. While getting set up to get the blood moon I heard one coming and thought the trajectory had it heading for the moon. Although you can't see the plane like you could during the day, you can clearly make out it's sillouette and jetwash as it passes.
