On the 12 of April, we were conducting a game drive with our guests, and at a certain stage we saw two lionesses and three cubs resting on the top of a koppie in the reserve. When driving ahead and stopped for a sundowner, a male lion walked past and carried on. We quickly stopped our sundowner and followed the big boy. We found him 200 meters away with two lionesses. Coming so close to these magical lions was a very special experience on the first game drive the guests ever made!
When we drove off, we wanted to check out the two lionesses with the three cubs, and we found them walking on the track in front of us. To our surprise, the two lionesses were accompanied by 7 (!) small cubs. When we stopped the game viewer, the cubs left the group and came checking out the game viewer. What an unforgettable experience for our guests!

The white mountain lion is not a separate species, but an extremely rare pale or leucistic form of the cougar, also called a puma or mountain lion.

Mountain lions are found across the Americas, from Canada to South America, surviving with stealth, powerful legs, night vision, and the ability to hunt deer, elk, and smaller animals in forests, deserts, and mountains.

The species is listed as Least Concern, but there is no exact global count, and truly white wild cougars are so rare that only a few confirmed cases have been recorded.

This poignant daytime scene at the zoo captures a tender moment between a mother elephant and her calf, where the baby elephant slumbers serenely on a plush hay bed, enveloped in the mother's protective embrace. The mother's stance forms a natural sanctuary, exemplifying the profound bond and nurturing instinct characteristic of elephant mothers. Her trunk and body are intricately positioned around the calf, conveying a sense of safety, warmth, and utter tranquility. The calf's closed eyes underscore its complete trust, oblivious to its surroundings due to the security provided by its mother's presence. The soft natural light illuminates their textured skin, accentuating the intricate details of their intimate connection, while the subtle backdrop of the zoo enclosure focuses attention on the emotional tableau. The juxtaposition of the mother's enormity with the calf's tiny size renders the image particularly striking, highlighting her gentle giant persona. This scene embodies a quintessential aspect of elephant family dynamics - unwavering protection, unconditional love, and a deep-seated emotional bond. The authenticity and warmth of the moment evoke a sense of timelessness, underscoring the strong familial bonds that define elephant social structure. The image presents a powerful portrayal of maternal love, safety, trust, and comfort, reminiscent of a documentary moment, highlighting elephants' highly social and caring nature.

In the heart of the frozen Arctic, where the world is painted in endless shades of white, a mother’s love creates the warmest sanctuary. 🐻‍❄️❤️
Watch as this majestic polar bear gently curls her powerful body into a protective circle, shielding her two precious cubs from the biting cold. One tiny cub nestles peacefully under her chin, while the other snuggles deep into her thick, snowy fur — both fast asleep, completely safe in their mother’s embrace. With every soft breath, her fur ripples gently in the golden Arctic light, and her massive paw rests tenderly over them, a silent promise of unwavering protection.
In this harsh and unforgiving wilderness, moments like these remind us of the pure, unconditional love that exists in nature. These tiny cubs, born into one of the most extreme environments on Earth, are wrapped in warmth, safety, and a mother’s fierce devotion. As light snowflakes dance softly around them and the sun kisses the icy landscape, this family embodies peace, tenderness, and the quiet strength only a mother can provide.
A breathtaking glimpse into the gentle side of one of nature’s most powerful animals. This is not just survival — this is love in its purest form.

Tender Motherly Love: European Robin Gently Feeding Her Hungry Chicks Fresh Green Caterpillars in a Beautiful Mossy Nest | Heartwarming Wildlife Moment

06/21/2026

🐦🌿 A robin perched quietly among frost-covered branches is one of those simple winter pleasures that never goes out of style. Their bright red chest brings warmth and colour to the cold landscape, making them a welcome sight on even the chilliest mornings.

While the American robin is larger and more familiar across North America, the European robin is smaller, fluffier, and wonderfully curious around people. They often seem perfectly content sharing a peaceful moment with us.

A tiny bird that adds magic to everyday life. 🇬🇧🐦
