Happy holidays 2018. Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday.
It’s been a crazy year in sports and given how College football is ending up, it sure is poised to be an even more exciting finish with an even more exciting bowl season
Alabama is the top dog right now and proobablt will be going to the championship game but Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, and Oklahoma aren’t leaving without a fight.
The LeBron to the Lakers experiment has started to show a good choice and go figure. He’s a savant when it comes to basketball. The prodigy has lead every team he has been on into the finals since 2011, not winning them all rather going 3-5 in that time with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavs. The only difference this year will be it won’t be a Steph Curry lead Warriors team that beats the Lakers in the finals, if the Lakers won’t to keep LeBrons streak going they have to surplant the Warriors in the West Finals. Time will tell but LeBron has changed the fortunes for the franchise around very quick.
The Las Vegas Golden Knights were the darlings of the NHL and the sports world for that matter in 2017-2018. They went the farthest for a brand new expansion franchise in their first year in existence and went all the way to the NHL finals this past June but ultimately were taken out by the Washington Capitols, in 5 games. This year they haven’t seen the same success of last year and are struggling to win early on. They didn’t make a lot of changes in the roster so I bet they will turn things around and be back in the mix soon enough, stay tuned
Congrats to the Boston Red Sox for winning the World Series in 2018. An amazing feat for that team given they had the best record going into the playoffs and despite winning the division in early September and coasting into October, they had a strong team all season long, quality bench depth and timely hitting to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 5 games to win the franchises 4th World Series since 2004. Before 04, the Red Sox had gone 86 years since winning their last World Series in 1918.
2018 has been fun for sports, let’s hope 2019 can be fun to watch and in some aspects surpass 2018, but it’s going to be tough. I’ll be watching, will you?
