Instructions:

1 lb (500g) ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can diced tomatoes
1 tbsp smoked paprika ️
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 can red kidney beans, drained
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic.
Add spices and diced tomatoes. Simmer for 20 minutes. ⏳

β€’ For the Crust (if homemade): 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt πŸ§‚, 1 cup VERY COLD butter πŸ§ˆβ„οΈ, ~1/2 cup ice water πŸ’§β„οΈ
β€’ For the Filling:
β€’ 6-7 medium apples 🍎🍏 (like Granny Smith/Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, sliced
β€’ 1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar 🍬 (adjust to your taste!)
β€’ 1/4 cup packed brown sugar (optional)
β€’ 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (or 2 tbsp cornstarch)
β€’ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon πŸ‚
β€’ 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1. Crust (if making): Mix flour/salt. Cut in COLD butter πŸ§ˆβ„οΈ until coarse meal. Add ice water πŸ’§ little by little until dough forms. Divide, flatten, wrap & chill! πŸ₯Ά
2. Filling: Toss sliced apples 🍎🍏 with sugars, flour/cornstarch, spices πŸ‚, and lemon juice πŸ‹.
3. Assemble: Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) πŸ”₯. Roll out bottom crust, place in pie plate. Fill with apples 🍎. Dot with butter 🧈.
4. Roll out top crust. Place over filling (make slits!) or create a lattice #️⃣. Trim & crimp edges.
5. Brush top with egg wash πŸ₯šπŸ–ŒοΈ & sprinkle with sugar ✨.
6. Bake: On a baking sheet, bake at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for 20 mins. Reduce heat πŸ”₯ to 375Β°F (190Β°C), bake 40-50 mins more until golden & bubbly! 🌟 (Cover edges if browning too fast!)
7. COOL completely on a wire rack (at least 2-3 hours!) before slicing ⏳. This is important! Then, enjoy! πŸ˜‹
