Who knew that sharing the real stories of Washington County would mean something to the people and the rest of the world? In the end, it's the people, the stories, and the writer- getting it out into the world to be heard is all that matters!

The power of the press was revealed in Hillsboro- it might not be clear- but stories like this prove that people want to know- and no one is telling them! Millions of car trips, dollars, and hours at stake in Hillsboro as Washington County got caught trying to close a major commuter road, for almost 6 months, for a home builder with ties to the Chair of Washington County, and provided NO NOTICE to the public! We helped; they paused. Now what happens? We shall find out! https://hillsboroherald.com/public-outcry-forces-washington-county-to-delay-river-road-closure-millions-of-miles-and-dollars-on-the-line/

Hillsboro Community Flag Is Being Designed: Hillsboro Community Flag: In the name of Community Engagement, the City has posted on the web page that we all have 1 whole week to give our input as to what should be on the Hillsboro Community Flag. We are the only media outlet to post this- so let's hope for more time and that we get a lot of engagement. As of right now only 14 residents out of 115,000 have answered the survey! This is your chance!

If nothing changes before the Council meeting next Tuesday, River Road into Hillsboro will be closed for 5 Months! That is unprecedented... and another significant sign that we lack leadership in Washington County! Can anyone else recall a major transit and commuter street being closed to all traffic, 24/7, for 5 months? This is a major commuter and trucking route. What do u think? Thousands of cars a day now have to travel through brand new Reeds Crossing and South Hillsboro- many small side roads will be flooded with cars and gravel trucks, and 219 into 1st street in old town Hillsboro will potentially double in traffic flow. This needs a serious look - Speak up- because this is where decisions are made and effect all of us for months!
