So much they can be proud of on this day of peaceful protest!

Neighbors—this is one worth rallying around.

Jim’s Ice Cream is reopening on Friday at 3 PM after a tough year of recovery following the crash that hit the shop. The owner and crew fought to bring this Hillsboro favorite back with community support, and now it’s time for us to return the love.
The Hillsboro Herald

If you can, stop by this weekend and help give them a roaring comeback.

Hillsboro, this is the holiday show with a mission.
Bag&Baggage Productions opens “A Tuna Christmas” at The Vault with a two-actor cyclone of 20+ characters, rapid-fire costume changes, inventive stagecraft, and the kind of laugh-out-loud chaos that reminds you why live theatre still matters.

This production is also something bigger: a smart, gutsy pivot to protect the long-term future of Hillsboro’s professional theatre company after the COVID-era attendance and funding hit.

🎄 Tuna, Texas (pop. 201) is ready for Christmas…
…and the lawn-decorating war, local radio madness, and a community show facing its own funding panic are all about to collide.

📍 The Vault Theater, 350 E Main St, Hillsboro
🗓️ Runs Dec. 4–21, 2025.

🎟️ Accessibility and community-first ticketing are woven into this run (including Arts for All, student access, ASL/audio description noted in your story).

If you love Hillsboro culture, this is a “show up” moment.

UPDATED STORY: Here are some resources for those being affected by the which had come to Hillsboro and our communities in Washington County!

They’re hunting our neighbors. Hillsboro is under ICE siege — and our community is fighting back.

Daily arrests and abductions. Parents are too afraid to send their kids to school. Businesses are struggling, primarily Latino- and Hispanic-owned shops and markets.

In our new Hillsboro Herald resource guide, we:

Call this crisis what it is

Lift up people on the front lines, from ICE watchers like Kiley Delgado to student leader Manny Chavez.

Share hotlines, legal aid, food distribution, and support from CENTRO, Adelante Mujeres, PIRC, and others

Point toward the next key City of Hillsboro meetings where real decisions will be made

If you’ve been watching this unfold and wondering how to help, start here.
