Holy Week Day 7- Holy Saturday - On this day the Saviors body was taken from thee cross, the women from Galilee followed and saw the tomb where his body was placed. Then they went home and prepared spices and ointments to anoint his body. But by the time they were finished the Sabbath had begun, so they rested as required by the law. A generous man and disciple of Christ named Joseph of Arimathea gave His own tomb to the Savior. It was a day of waiting and reflection before the day of His, at that time, unknown resurrection on Easter Sunday. It’s a time of mourning as Jesus’ body rested in the tomb. How can you reflect on the Saviors life a little more today and throughout your life? Are there things you can work on?

Holy Week Day 4- Holy Wednesday - We do not know exactly what happened on Wednesday of that week but we do know a few things. That morning He and His apostles went back to the temple and continued to teach to all those who wanted to hear Him. He probably also continued to heal people as well as He had done over the last few days. But of course there were those who opposed to His teachings. Some of these were the chief priests. They loved trying to corner the Savior in His own words. It is just baffling to me that with as much knowledge of the Savior as they had, they didn’t see Him as the Savior even when He was standing right in front of them. It is also speculated that this is the day that Judas conspiried with Jewish leaders to arrest Christ. Another thing that is believed to have happened on Wednesday is the Savior spending one of His last days with His family, friends and loved ones. How do you feel knowing that even thought Christ knew He was going to die soon He still taught those who followed Him and cared enough to spend time with those He loved and those who loved Him? Do you think you are one of those people He loves and wants to spend time with?

Holy Week Day 3 -Holy Tuesday- During his final few days beforere His crucifiction, He focused His teachings on the two grear commandments; loving God and loving our neighbors which includes serving others. He taught about preparing for His Second Coming and Final Judgement while a*o teaching the principles of repentance and forgiveness. His selfless sacrifice later that week would make both of those gifts available to each of us. Christ would repeatedly invite all to be His disciples and to follow His example by loving, serving, and forgiving others. He also taught about the parable of the widows mite, the 10 virgins, talents, and sheep and goats. Each of these had special meanings and importance to all people. How do you think those parables can help you come closer to your Savior?

Holy Week Day 2- Holy Monday- On Holy Monday, Jesus went to the temple to cleanse it as He did at thee beginning of His ministry. Selling animals was essential for sacrifices for the Passover. When Christ arrived He found wicked people who had turned the temple into a wicked trade center, then charging an illegal added charge on thosee sacred funds. Instead of spirit filled and quiet ground to worship at, it had turned into a busy market. In a show of righteous displeasure, Jesus overturned the vendor’s tables and drove the animals from the temple, rebuking the people as a “den of thieves”. The Savior then healed those around Him in need of healing including the children. Read about this story in Matthew 21:12-16. What do you learn about the Savior from this story?
