Last minute trip to Oahu to help Papa move to a new place. On the Friday before Hurricane Lala. Mahalo to my brother for being the backbone on all this. I just was the assistant. Glad I could make it. And glad I could make it home to Hilo.

I haven’t made banana bread in so long. So when someone gave me bananas, I knew it was time. I looked in the Waiakea High School Anniversary cookbook but I came back to my tried and true banana bread recipe. These recipes are from Kikuyo Kuramoto Sasaki c/o 55, Jane Chao c/o 55, and Pat Paaluhi Morimoto c/o 59. —-
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
6-7 ripe bananas
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
If baking loaves bake at 350° for about 45 to 50 minutes less time if you’re doing mini loaves
