The 68th Annual Holdenville Kiwanis Club Pancake “Breakfast” for dinner is quickly approaching. The chefs will begin flipping cakes Monday evening, February 17, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Holdenville High School Cafeteria. Diners have the option of including the pancake meal along with an exciting evening of sports action as the Holdenville Wolverine Basketball team takes on the Stroud Tigers. The Wolverines will also be celebrating Senior Night at 6 p.m. JV will begin at 4 p.m. with HHS games to follow at 6:30 p.m.
This year the Kiwanis will be serving meals to Wolverine fans at the gymnasium, orders will be taken upon entry if you are unable to eat at the cafeteria.
Kiwanis are selling $5 tickets for the breakfast at this time and renewed ads for the breakfast fundraiser.

OSBI MAKES ARREST IN 2018 DEATH OF A HOLDENVILLE MAN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
January 28, 2020

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. – This week, agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) arrested the wife of a Holdenville man in connection with his 2018 murder. Leslie Miller (62) was taken into custody by OSBI agents yesterday and transported to the Hughes County Jail on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree.

On October 15, 2018, Holdenville police requested OSBI assistance with a suspicious death. That evening, officers were called to the 300 block of N. Hinkley St., in Holdenville in reference to a gunshot victim. There, officers found 52-year-old Tony Miller with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the Holdenville Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Leslie Miller is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office and the Hughes County District Attorney’s office also assisted with the investigation.

At 8am officers responded to a call of a vehicle similar to the one pictured below 2005 BMW M5 white in color was being stolen at gun point from a residence on South Burgess. The Holdenville Fire Department is now taking applications for a full time firefighter. Drug test, background check and an agility test will be done. No certifications need. Most of the school you'll need will be completed with in the first 1 to 2 years. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid drivers license. Seminole State College held a pinning ceremony at the Kelly Haney Center on Dec. 6 for nursing students expected to meet degree requirements this semester. Due to the program’s rapid growth, this event marked the first time the College has hosted a pinning ceremony in the fall. Applications may be picked up in the Office of the City Clerk at 100 North Creek, Monday
through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Experience in bookkeeping or accounting preferred.

The Calvin Police Department, Hughes County Sheriff’s Office and Denton County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating JASON KOZLOW of Frisco, Texas.

Kozlow is wanted in connection with a larceny that took place at the Calvin Quick Stop on 12/09/19 around 10 P.M.
Along with multiple Felony Warrants out of Denton, TX.

Kozlow was last seen driving a stolen Gray 2007 GMC 4 door Pickup
Texas plate CZZ 1032
Traveling East on Highway 1 in Calvin and possibly turned South on Highway 75
