If you currently use Freestyle Libre 3 and Freestyle Libre 3 plus, please check to see if your sensor is part of the recall.
The truth about CGMs? They’re incredible tools—but not perfect.
Any technology can fail, and CGMs can be inaccurate at times. Always confirm with a fingerstick when:
• Your symptoms don’t match the number
• Your CGM gives an urgent low or high that seems “off”
• Your readings change rapidly
• You’re treating or deciding on a major insulin dose
• You suspect a sensor issue
Your safety > the number on your screen

Abbott has warned that 3 million of its continuous glucose monitors may provide incorrect low readings. Here's what to know.

💙Today we’re celebrating one more Juicebox Hero — Hudson.

At 5 years old, Hudson was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He’s met this huge change with a courage well beyond his years.

His family has always been adventurous and constantly on the go — sports, activities, camping, and big gatherings. Hudson’s diagnosis slowed life down just enough to make space for reflection and for everyone to pull even closer together.

Hudson’s 7-year-old brother, Westen, has stepped up in an incredible way — reading numbers, helping with lows, doing finger sticks, and even giving Hudson his insulin before breakfast. He wants to understand and be involved every step of the way.

Here’s to Hudson — brave, steady, and showing what resilience looks like at just five years old.💙

Day 30 — The Final Day of Diabetes Awareness Month 💙

Fact: Research shows that many people with Type 1 diabetes are actually healthier than their peers — because the daily habits of monitoring, moving, and making mindful choices often lead to stronger long-term wellness. With today’s tools and care, people with T1D can live long, healthy, complication-free lives.

💙 Today we’re celebrating our thirtieth Juicebox Hero — Brendan.

At 51, Brendan meets Type 1 with perseverance, grit, and the kind of humor that turns even the toughest moments into something lighter. His story proves a powerful truth: staying engaged with your health is a superpower, not a limitation.

💙 Here’s to Brendan — strong, steady, and reminding the world that people with Type 1 diabetes aren’t just surviving… many are the healthiest ones in the room.

Day 29 of Diabetes Awareness Month 💙

Fact: It’s a common misconception that Type 1 diabetes only happens in children — but it can develop at any age. Adults are diagnosed every day. Yet this outdated belief often leads to adults being misdiagnosed with Type 2 diabetes simply because of their age.

Misdiagnosis is dangerous — and can be life-threatening. Adults with new-onset Type 1 need insulin, not oral medications alone. Delayed insulin therapy can lead to rapid decline, severe illness, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). This is why we must fight the stigma that Type 1 is “a childhood disease” and push for better awareness around adult-onset T1D.

💙 Today we’re celebrating our twenty-ninth Juicebox Hero — Mason.
Mason, age 25, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as an adult — a moment that challenged every stereotype about who T1D “happens to.” His story reflects a truth too often overlooked: Type 1 doesn’t discriminate by age, and adults deserve the same urgency, recognition, and accurate diagnosis as kids.

Since being diagnosed, Mason has faced the realities of adult-onset T1D with strength and adaptability — learning the ins and outs of insulin therapy, technology, and daily management while building a new normal for himself. His resilience and determination embody what it means to live bravely with T1D.

Whether he’s navigating work, relationships, or everyday life with blood sugars in tow, Mason shows what countless adults with Type 1 already know: this condition can arrive unexpectedly, but it never limits what you’re capable of.

💙 Here’s to Mason — strong, steady, and helping remind the world that Type 1 diabetes can happen at any age.

Day 28 of Diabetes Awareness Month 💙
Fact: Summer at Camp Setebaid in Pennsylvania gives kids with Type 1 diabetes the chance to take on new challenges while learning to manage their diabetes independently — from preparing for hikes with insulin checks to cooking meals while counting carbs. These experiences help campers gain confidence, resilience, and the sense that they can do anything while living with T1D.

💙 Today we’re celebrating our twenty-eighth Juicebox Hero — Sophia.
Sophia, age 19, is a world traveler and a proud Penn State fan. She spends part of her summers as a camp counselor at Camp Setebaid, guiding young campers as they master new skills, try exciting activities, and take the reins on their diabetes management. Her kindness, adventurous spirit, and dedication make her an incredible role model for T1D kids learning independence.

Whether she’s cheering on her campers, helping them navigate the ropes course, or sharing stories from her travels, Sophia brings energy, encouragement, and confidence wherever she goes.

💙 Here’s to Sophia — adventurous, inspiring, and helping kids with T1D discover their own strength, independence, and courage every single day.

🦃💙 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at The Last Juicebox Project! 💙🦃

We couldn’t have gotten off the ground running with as much momentum and heart as we did without our incredible team — and without you, our amazing community.

Your kindness, your generosity, and your support mean everything to us. You’ve helped us grow, connect, and start making a difference for the T1D community in ways that truly matter. And for that, we are deeply thankful.

From our family to yours, we wish you a warm, joyful, gratitude-filled Thanksgiving.💙

Day 27 of Diabetes Awareness Month 💙

Fact: Diabetes camps can be truly life-changing for kids living with Type 1. They offer something priceless — community, confidence, and the chance to feel completely understood. At camps like Camp Courage and Camp Setebaid in Pennsylvania, T1D kids meet friends who check blood sugar, count carbs, and carry supplies just like they do. They learn independence, feel supported, and discover that diabetes doesn’t have to hold them back from any adventure.

💙 Today we’re celebrating our twenty-seventh Juicebox Hero — Gracie.

Gracie, age 8, is always on the move — which means her family ALWAYS has a juice box on hand. But Type 1 diabetes doesn’t slow her down for a moment.

She loves being active and pours her whole heart into everything she does. If she sets her mind to something, she doesn’t stop until she masters it — whether it’s roller skating, riding her bike, or making it across the monkey bars like a pro. She’s also an amazing young artist with a beautiful creative spirit.

And somehow, she’s the reigning queen of arcades — always winning the claw machine and hitting super bonuses like it’s no big deal. Gracie brings determination, joy, and a little bit of magic everywhere she goes.

💙 Here’s to Gracie — unstoppable, creative, brave, and shining brightly every single day.

We are thrilled to share our brand-new website — beautifully designed, created, and brought to life by Jordan Rhoat, founder of Yarden Bridge.

Yarden Bridge is Jordan’s creative studio dedicated to helping small organizations and nonprofits build meaningful, modern digital spaces. And we can say from experience: Jordan is extraordinary at what he does.

Not only was he incredibly proficient, fast, and creative — but throughout this process, he became so much more than a web designer. He became a true friend. He made the entire experience easy, painless, and honestly… surprisingly fun.

If you’re looking for someone who takes care of the complex parts and guides you every step of the way, look no further than Yarden Bridge.

We’d love for you to explore our new site: read our story, browse photos from our latest event (find them at the bottom of the homepage!), and learn more about the work we’re doing.

You can donate directly through the site — and very soon, you’ll also find Gala information and, drum roll please… the announcement of our 2026 Gala theme for March 7th!

We hope you’ll take a look and share in our excitement. 💛

Day 26 of Diabetes Awareness Month 💙

Fact: Many well-known figures live with Type 1 diabetes — proving that this condition doesn’t limit a person’s ability to accomplish extraordinary things.
From singer Nick Jonas, to Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, to NFL tight end Mark Andrews, to Olympic cross-country skier Kris Freeman, and former quarterback Jay Cutler, these individuals show the world that people with T1D can excel at anything.

💙 Today we’re celebrating our twenty-sixth Juicebox Hero — Jaxxon.

Jaxxon is just beginning his journey with Type 1 diabetes after being newly diagnosed this month. He and his family are still navigating this unfamiliar world — learning, adjusting, and facing each new challenge with courage.

Even in these early days, Jaxxon is showing incredible strength. He’s adapting, asking questions, showing up bravely, and proving that even when life changes suddenly, resilience rises to meet it. His family stands beside him, learning every step together, building confidence, and finding their new rhythm.

💙 Here’s to Jaxxon — brave, resilient, and already showing the heart of a true hero.
