Pack the Virtual Courtroom on June 2, 2025! Please share widely!

We need as many observers as possible to flood the virtual courtroom for Nate Lindell's upcoming open records case. Nate has filed a suit challenging the Wisconsin Department of Correction's ban on releasing body-worn camera footage. We expect this to be quite interesting! The judge demanded body-worn camera footage from DOC officials and the Wisconsin DOC did not comply with the judge's orders! They withheld some footage and then falsely denied the existence of other footage. At Nate's last hearing, the state's attorney said the reason they didn't produce all the footage was that the cops were trading the cameras around instead of each one using their assigned camera so they got confused! Help us let Judge Everett Mitchell know we care about this case and we are interested in seeing how he responds to the DOC employees ongoing obfuscation!

Court date: June 2, 2025, 3pm Eastern, 2pm Central, 1pm Mountain, 12pm Pacific

occurs on April 12th this year - Note that in the Jewish calendar, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so Holocaust Remembrance Day will be observed starting on the sunset of Wednesday, the 11th of April 2018.

Whereas, the Industrial Workers of the World is a revolutionary industrial union that places class struggle at the heart of its organizing and aims ultimately to abolish class society,

Whereas, since its inception as a union for all workers, it has stood against all oppression, prejudice, and discrimination,

Whereas, the IWW has historically stood against enemies of the working class and proponents of oppression and discrimination, such as the Ku Klux Klan,

Whereas, political movements that center around the idea of unity of one race, ethnicity, or cultural group while disparaging, oppressing, and/or casting out perceived others, whether such movements call themselves fascist, white nationalist, white supremacist, [white] ethno-nationalist, [white] racial separatists, Christian Dominionist, Christian Supremacist, or otherwise, are antithetical to the mission and vision of the IWW, both through their oppression and discrimination of fellow members of the working class that are grouped into whatever category they deem as other, as well as in their ideal of collaboration with the ruling classes and suppression of class conflict within the centered group,

Whereas, the success and capacity for recruitment of these political movements is heavily rooted in their ability to maintain a public presence and operate openly within the society they seek to destroy,

Therefore be it Resolved, that the Industrial Workers of the World stands against these political ideations as a whole and will take action to oppose their growth and open operation through a strategy of mass anti-fascism and community self defense that is consistent with the aims and principles of the IWW.

Urgent Info for All Union Members - Please Share Widely

If you have not heard about the April 17 trials of members of the labor union, Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), please see information below. Many groups are organizing to bring attention to this matter as it could be a sign of things to come in the ongoing attack on organized labor in the U.S.

Overview of situation:

~IWW members are being targeted by the state for their organizing on J20.

~The next trial for people arrested for protesting on January 20, 2017 (post-Trump election) is April 17.

~Every defendant on April 17 is an IWW member. (This one is unique because it's the only trial block where every single defendant is an IWW member.)

~The prosecutors are blatantly singling people out for being members of the IWW. IWW membership cards, bylaws, and union communications are being used as evidence in the trial. This behavior hearkens back to the McCarthy era.

Call to Action/Internet Campaign:

~Worldwide Day of Solidarity with the J20 defendants on Tuesday, April 10th

~Livestream and share the talking points above

~Use

~Even if you just have one person hold a sign and a second person take a picture, every little bit helps

~Let your fellow union members know what is happening

~A simple post on social from your personal account is deeply appreciated

Calling for IWOC Steering Committee Members + Organizers! (Plz share)

Fellow Workers--

The Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee is now a Standing Committee of the IWW, and as such, our officers will be elected this fall via referendum. We have grown to 576 members and need your support.

We are looking for FWs to run, nominate others, start local organizing groups, and otherwise get involved, especially those who have been incarcerated or with personal ties to the prison system.

See the different officer positions available here: Inreach (to prisons), Outreach (to IWWs and allies), Media/Literature, Newsletter Editor, and Fundraiser. Contact us at [email protected] with questions.

Spread the word!
