Excerpts on Faith, Love, and Excitement in The Believers, A Cornerstone Novel, by Randy Rosencrans. Available on Amazon.com at https://amazon.com/dp/B0FH96V2LP:
He wished he could have what they have. That faith.
He would wish Barb and Amy were still here with him, but even to wish it were true was too painful.
Instead, he just wished they were alive, and he would have died in that car wreck on Highway 52 in 2017.
That he would have died. With that faith.

“In my expert opinion, Bradley Mansavage is headed to the NHL,” Rocky said confidently, “As long as he doesn’t get side-tracked by unrequited love.”
Rocky Marino
“The more you love someone, the more it hurts when they are gone. Love is the best thing life has to offer, so when you lose someone and feel a lot of pain, you know you have a lot of love.”
Don Bauer, as spoken to his eleven-year-old son.
…the Golden Gate Bridge was in full view on the starboard, Angel Island to the port. Alcatraz Island was just coming into view dead ahead. The setting sun on the water was magnificent. The wispy scattered clouds reflected the fire-like oranges and reds as the dwindling orb retreated into the water. For a few moments, the setting sun in all of its glory owned the full panorama, and then it was gone.

It was a real kiss. It’s similar to a passionate kiss that lets the other person know you are attracted to them physically, but it is much more. It conveys promise and a readiness for commitment.

There was one thing Brad Mansavage knew without question, though. He would trade any and all chances to play professional hockey for a life with Colette.
With her mortality in the balance, the proximity of this object she perceived as divine became overwhelming to her. She closed her eyes. Her shoulders gently shook as she silently wept tears of gratitude and joy. It affected Jeff as well, and tears welled up in his eyes as he grasped their positions in creation.

Kira had an expression on her face like she was at the top of a roller coaster, and had just heard the last, slow, clack!”
Kira Taylor
She wanted to make it last as long as possible and experience all of the sensations that went along with it as clearly as she could. If she had been asked to describe how she felt, it would have been difficult. Suffice it to say it affected her to her soul. Aviation and flying were built into her psyche, WWII history was her passion, and this day?
Today was a day of days.
Colette Bauer
At that instant, a loud, clear rifle shot cracked through the air.

Tim sucked the shoulder mounts in tight and gave his waist strap a quick tightening. He inhaled deeply to fill his lungs and replenish the oxygenated blood in his muscles. He squinted his eyes to reduce the glare from the overcast sky and the water. He opened and closed his fingers to regrasp the handles and carefully found placement on the trigger.

Everyone settled in the living room, and all eyes were on Tim. It was special, and everyone knew it because Tim, out of all the people in the family, was an exceptional storyteller.
“Let me tell you something,” She said.
She hunkered down and looked every member of her family in the eye to make the point.
Colette Bauer
There was a long period of silence as everyone, including Tim and Colette, pondered what had taken place.
“What should these two, if anything, tell people about their experiences?” Jan asked, not necessarily to anyone in particular.
“Not a word,” Carolyn said. “Not a word.”
“Agreed,” Donovan said.
Jan felt like she and Jeff were seated in one of those huge reverse bungee rides at the Alaska State Fair, fully cranked down and waiting for the operator to pull a lever and launch them.
