After a long night of hurricanes, tornado warnings, power outages and general weather chaos, we thought everyone deserved a commercial break with some entertainment. 🌺

Please take a moment to decompress while witnessing these ancient techniques, never before seen anywhere. Experts believe these powerful movements might confuse the storms so badly they will leave altogether.

You’re welcome.

The Haole Survival Guide to Hawaiʻi:
1. Don’t stare
2. Don’t talk about anybody.
3. Everybody is related.
4. If the waves don’t kick your a$$, the locals will 😂

And Mark Thompson immediately broke a rule after this too. Which one? 🫣

Hurricane Lowell Update: Lowell strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 90 miles per hour located 535 miles southeast of Hilo, and is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane (Category 3+) tomorrow.

Forecasters are confident that Hurricane Lowell will move west well below the Hawaiian Islands over the next four days. In about five days, it is possible that Lowell could start a northwest or north turn, but confidence for this extended track is low until more information is known late this week.

Wind gusts over 50 miles per hour will be possible on Thursday and Friday for Maui and the Big Island. Be prepared for hazardous winds including possible damage to trees and power lines in these areas.

Dangerous surf on south-facing and east-facing shores in Hawaiʻi will build late Wednesday through Friday due to Hurricane Lowell and could build further over the weekend from Hurricane Karina. Use care near the shore and obey all beach signs and ocean safety instructions.

Rain and flash flooding is not expected to be a threat from Lowell.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing bulletins on Hurricane Lowell every six hours - 5 a.m., 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. – at hurricanes.gov.

Elsewhere, Hurricane Karina is a Category 4 hurricane located 1,600 miles east of Hilo that is forecast to weaken and track north of the Hawaiian Islands. Updates are available at hurricanes.gov.
