HONOLULU (KHON2) — A movie scene can spark a trip in seconds. A mountain, a beach or a wide-open valley flashes across a screen and suddenly it feels familiar. That sense of recognition drives real travel to Hawaiʻi, according to leaders who study tourism through data, not guesswork.
Jeffrey Eslinger, senior director of market insights and CRM at the Hawaiʻi Visitors and Convention Bureau, said his role centers on turning raw information into tools people can use.
“I really am responsible for taking all the data and intelligence and synthesizing that, so that it is as useful that it can be for all of our members,” Eslinger said.
