The house was beautiful. Freshly remodeled. Basement looked perfect.
Until the rain came… 🌧️
Water from the sloped backyard started seeping in, and the ‘new’ basement was hiding the damage.

In Alabama, we’re a caveat emptor state — which means the buyer is responsible for doing their own due diligence, and sellers aren’t required to disclose most issues. Even inspectors can’t always find what’s hidden behind walls or fresh finishes.

That’s why smart negotiations, extra protection, and flood insurance matter — even outside a flood zone.
