Now On Display! 🖼📷 The Ozark Bathhouse in Hot Springs National Park will host Arkansas Tourism’s new photography exhibit, “Arkansas’s Scenic Tourism Landscapes,” beginning Saturday, August 7. This exhibit will run through mid-September in conjunction with Hot Springs National Park’s 100th Anniversary celebration. The exhibit will then travel to various locations across Arkansas throughout the remainder of 2021 and into 2022.

“People are always impressed by the variety of landscapes that Arkansas has to offer,” said Stacy Hurst, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. “We are happy to be able to share the work of our photographers over the years who have captured those scenes so well.”

Recently recognized by AAA Southern Traveler as an “Official Southern Travel Treasure,” the exhibit highlights the scenic beauty of The Natural State as captured in decades of photography by Arkansas Tourism.

“Tourism is a major economic driver in Arkansas’s economy, and the work of our photographers both past and present plays an important role in inspiring visitation to the state,” said Travis Napper, director of Arkansas State Tourism. “Our photographers have been featured in publications across the globe, and we’re so pleased to share their images with all Arkansans through this new exhibit.”

Kirk Jordan, chief photographer, curated the exhibit with inspiration and accessibility in mind.

“I have two audiences in mind as I snap photos,” said Jordan. “Those people who will be encouraged to venture to the spots we cover, and those who, for various reasons, cannot make the trip.”

The Ozark Bathhouse is open to the public Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. Consistent with CDC guidance regarding areas of substantial or high transmission, visitors to Hot Springs National Park, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask inside all park buildings.

Did you finally purchase your dream home but your children are not as excited as you are about the move? Having the "moving talk" with kids is never easy and almost never goes entirely as planned. Here are my tips:

Have the conversation as early as possible - better they hear the news from you than a neighbor or an overheard phone conversation.
When you do have the conversation, don't leave it open-ended. Be clear that no amount of convincing will change your decision.

That said, give your kiddos plenty of time to ask questions! Depending on their ages they will have lots of questions like 'will I still get to see my friends?' and 'can the dog come with us?' The more information they have, the more in control they will feel.

Even if the move is not something you're 100% excited about, be as optimistic as you can be. Recognize that some sadness is natural, but helping your kids see all of the benefits of the move (a bigger house, closer to the grandparents, etc.) can help everyone in the family prepare.

Run Stop is a great place to get some of the best shoes for running, walking, or even those that are on their feet all day such as healthcare workers. Big city selection right here in downtown Hot Springs. Go by and check them out. They are by the Pancake Shop. We had the privilege of checking them out as they had their ribbon cutting with The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.
