Joy isn’t small. It just lives in small places.

We spend so much time waiting for joy to show up in the big moments — the trip, the milestone, the someday. But more often than not, it’s already here, hiding in the small places we forget to notice.

This nightstand was my son’s when he was little. I used to fuss about every scratch and ding on it. Now that he’s grown, those same scratches hold some of my favorite memories of him.

The zinnias are from my yard. The vase I found thrifting with my mom years ago. His photo in that tiny little frame. A rosary my mom gave me. An oyster shell my best friend painted by hand.

Every single thing on this table is someone I love. Every scratch tells a story I wouldn’t trade for anything.

We look for joy in the big things. But it’s been in the small places all along.

Joy isn’t small. It just lives in small places.

What small thing is holding joy for you today? 👇

The moment you open the door and the smell of fresh flowers just hits you.

I saved the bloom bar for last — a little surprise tucked inside my laundry room. Vases, scissors, and flowers waiting. Some from my yard. Some from the grocery store. All of it arranged and ready for them to create something of their own to take home.

Nobody knew it was there until I opened that door. And those little surprises — the ones nobody was expecting — that’s what makes someone feel like this was created just for them.

Next time you’re gathering your people, even just a few friends — tuck a little bloom bar somewhere unexpected. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be waiting.

Look what I came across 🤩

A 1982 advertisement for Magnalite

It was sold in this ad by TG&Y. How many of y’all remember that store?

How many of y’all cook in these fabulous pots still to this day?

Some of the best things happen when women pull up a chair.

We made things with our hands, ate good food, and talked about all of it — the hard stuff, the funny stuff, the stuff you don’t usually say out loud.

Turns out there’s something to that whole the more women gather, the longer they live thing.

I believe it.

Come as you are, stay as you grow. 🐝

Nobody walks in looking for the little details. But they’re what you think about on the way home.

The embroidered tablecloth that lived in a drawer until the right moment. The rosemary tucked into a crystal glass. Hand-painted tags that just said “Enjoy.” A stick of butter at every place because we were about to make something together. Vintage dishes mixed with Dollar Tree finds. Family pieces mixed with simple touches.

None of it was expensive. All of it was intentional. And every single detail was saying the same thing — I’m so glad you’re here.

A lampshade. Some fabric I already had. Ten minutes after work.

Not everything needs a reason. Sometimes you just make something that makes you happy every time you turn it on.

That’s enough. 🐝

Here you go —

Maybe we don’t need to reinvent ourselves.

Maybe we just need to give ourselves permission to slow down. To sit in our pajamas a little longer. To talk about our tomatoes and our flowers and just… be for a minute.

Maybe we don’t need to reinvent ourselves. Maybe we just need to remember who we are.

(And for the record — I’m still not sure those were even running shoes.)

Come as you are, stay as you grow. 🐝

And that comment — “I just want to take off my bra” — that’s your people. 🐝
