🫡 He Didn’t Think Twice. He Just Jumped.

On November 21, 2010, 21-year-old U.S. Marine Lance Corporal William “Kyle” Carpenter was on a rooftop in Marjah, Afghanistan, with fellow Marine Lance Corporal Nicholas Eufrazio when enemy gr***des started landing.
One gr***de dropped right between them.

There was almost no time to react.
Kyle moved.

He put his own body between the gr***de and his brother-in-arms.
The blast tore through him — face, arm, lungs, jaw, eye. His heart stopped three times. Doctors revived him each time. He spent weeks in a coma and more than two years fighting his way back through dozens of surgeries.
In 2014, President Barack Obama placed the Medal of Honor around his neck.
But Kyle’s story didn’t end on that rooftop.

The kid from a small Southern town — the energetic boy who once made his dad draw a Superman logo on his chest — survived what many thought was unsurvivable. He rebuilt his life, finished college, and turned his scars into a message of resilience.
A split-second decision saved another Marine’s life.

And the man who nearly died that day became a living symbol of courage.
Some heroes don’t have time to think about being heroes.

They simply choose to protect someone else.
