Oof... This morning....
I found myself trying to plan out my entire future step by step, getting lost in the chaos. Instead of using the skills I have and actually teach, I decided to take a little scroll on my phone.
I went to the news app, just reading headlines and thinking, "Why am I doing this?" There's nothing but horrible things on there, and it can't be helping my mood or anything else for that matter.
Suddenly, I heard God's voice clearly saying, "Get in My Word, not in the world."
And of course, that's exactly what I should be doing every time I get distracted by the what-ifs, the what-should-I-be-doings, and all the things.
His plan, His timing... but if I'm distracted by the world, I can't focus on His Word and His plan.
I'll miss it.
It's not about burying my head in the sand and ignoring reality.
It's about being very careful about what I feed my mind, so I can do what God is asking of me: to lead people from chaos to contentment.
P.S. It's not lost on me that I continually find my mind back in chaos (often). The key is that the time it takes me to get out and use the techniques is getting shorter and shorter, and that's where the WIN is!
What about you?
What do you do when your mind goes to chaos and gets focused on the world instead of what you should be doing?
