So worth it! Congratulations Mychal!

It’s a good day to be a book lover! After nearly 20 years off the air, “Reading Rainbow” is back on our screens. Mychal Threets, aka Mychal the Librarian, is serving as host, ready to spark a new generation’s love for stories, imagination, and all things reading.

If you’re not familiar with Threets, he’s a librarian and social media star from Fairfield, California, who has spent years sharing the powerful message that everyone belongs in the library. Last year, he became the resident librarian at PBS, a gig that unfolds perfectly into this next chapter at the helm of "Reading Rainbow," which ran on the network from 1983 to 2006 with LeVar Burton as host.

Instead of returning to PBS, though, new episodes of the revamped series are being shared via Kidzuko, an educational YouTube channel from Sony Pictures Television. The first episode dropped today, and new ones will come out Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET.

Seriously, thank you to everyone who has left a review for THE MONSTERS AMONG US.

It's been a bad week, query-wise, with multiple agents rejecting my other books all at once (as they once did with THE MONSTERS AMONG US, fun fact), so not only are these reviews validating, they are also making me feel powerful. 😈

Wow!!!

School librarian Amanda Jones has been named to the Time100 Next list, Time magazine’s spotlight on the world’s most influential rising stars.

Jones—who was recognized in 2021 as School Librarian of the Year by School Library Journal for her work at a Louisiana middle school—has become a national voice for intellectual freedom and democracy. Facing the fight head-on, she became one of the first librarians in the U.S. to file a defamation lawsuit against her detractors.

Happy 10th anniversary, Silent Book Club! From a small wine bar in San Francisco back in 2012 to nearly 2,000 chapters in 61 countries today, this “introvert happy hour” has redefined what a book club can be — no assigned books, no deadlines, just the freedom to read what you love in good company.

Over a million readers now gather every month, finding quiet companionship in cafes, libraries, and local spots around the world. Curious how it grew from two friends to a global phenomenon?
