Niesy Dunn

Niesy Dunn I'm an urban gardener in Zone 7B. I usually grow flowers and herbs and a few vegetables. Gardening brings me peace and joy, so I'm sharing my journey.

I've been on a path to be more at peace and emotionally centered, and have plugged into my home.

What if the only thing in your way… is you?

Growth doesn’t always show up in big, obvious ways.
Sometimes it’s slow. Quiet. Underground.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

This is your reminder:
You are still becoming.
Even when you feel behind.
Even when you don’t see the results yet.
Even when you doubt yourself.

Keep going.

The garden reminds me:
Not everything blooms at the same time.
Some things grow slow.
Some need to rest before they rise.
And some don’t show their beauty until the season fully shifts.

If you’ve been feeling left behind, maybe you’re just growing roots.
There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just not blooming yet.

🌿 Take a deep breath.
🌱 Trust your timeline.
💚 Your growth is still valid.

Sometimes, growth requires movement.
Not because we’re broken. Not because we failed.
But because we simply need a different environment—more light, more space, more peace.

This week in the garden, I had to shift a few plants around so they could thrive. And it reminded me how often we need to do the same in our own lives.

You deserve to bloom, too.

Spring is more than a new season—it’s a reset for your mind.

Longer days, more sunshine, and fresh blooms all play a real role in improving our mental health. Exposure to sunlight boosts serotonin, helping to lift our mood. Plus, being outside—even just potting up a plant on your balcony—can lower stress and anxiety levels.

Spring invites us to reconnect with nature and ourselves.

So this season, I’m choosing joy, growth, and grounding moments in the garden. What about you?

Drop a comment and tell me how you’re resetting this spring—big or small. Planting seeds? Clearing clutter? Getting outside more? OR just tag someone who could use a mental health boost. Let’s inspire each other to bloom.

I listed succulents, but anyone who knows me knows these do NOT grow for me. 😂 Point of protection loves, DO NOT plant mint directly in the ground. It is a delicious, but terrible w**d that will take over.

You are not here just to produce, to grind, to constantly chase.
Your worth was never meant to be measured by how busy you are.

There is a version of peace that doesn’t ask you to earn it.
A version of purpose that doesn’t need applause.

Gardening taught me that.
It taught me to be still, to listen, to grow without rushing.
To find meaning in the quiet.

If you're tired, if you're searching, if you're just curious—
Come garden with me.

Not for productivity.
Not for performance.

Just for you.

Gardening isn’t just about pretty plants—it’s about planting peace too.

By intentionally bringing plants into your life and cultivating a connection with them, you can tap into their inherent ability to promote peace, reduce stress, and enhance your overall well-being.
