The Cougar had the honor of joining photojournalist Raquel Natalicchio for a walkthrough of her powerful exhibit, “AL OTRO LADO | THE OTHER SIDE,” at the Houston Public Library (Julia Ideson Building) in downtown Houston.

Her work captures the human complexity of border life, the people, policies and stories that shape immigration, with depth and compassion.

You can visit the exhibit now through February 28, 2026 at the Houston Public Library’s Dr. James and Betty Key Map Room. Free and open to the public.

"At a time when talking about gender is under attack at Texas universities, UH’s decision to consolidate the Women & Gender Resource Center feels like a low blow. Services will not be eliminated, but as I read the University’s response, I couldn’t help but think that a valuable resource will now be tucked away in the Dean of Students’ office," writes Editor in Chief Cindy Rivas Alfaro.
