Aren’t women magical creatures? Sometimes I just sit in awe honestly. I keep imagining what the world would be like if there were more women world leaders. Not that all women are top tier leaders, BUUUUUUTTTTT the majority have been. Lord knows they're not as emotional as most men (different topic; not this morning). 🤭

There’s power in women uplifting women. I often think about the Women of Brewster Place (the TV miniseries), which gave me a peek into what life is like when women support other women. When one light shines bright, it only helps another light to shine even brighter. We can all shine bright like diamonds (and Riri said it so you know it must be true). Here’s the Monday Message challenge: This week, be the encouragement someone needs. Check in. Send a loving text. Make a phone call. Roll thru and hug a sister. Support one woman in a meaningful way this week (and all the remaining weeks of this year). And because this is better with a little reflection…how did supporting her support you?

I recognize all my blessings, and being blessed with a bomb ass community is one of mine. The people the good Lord has put into my life are beyond amazing. These people show up for me, love on me, and hold me accountable. It’s good over here. AND I return the favor. 💚

Loving your community means showing up with intention. It means reciprocal relationships. It’s celebrating the people who make your world richer. You ever feel like a broken record? I always told my classrooms that I didn’t like repeating myself, yet I repeated the same thing over and over again. 😆 As a matter of fact, we had this saying at The Container Store: “Repetition creates recognition.” I started adding “eventually” because some of us are slow to get a message. Oh, what’s the message? Community is the future!

Listen, we 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓 going to get through these challenging and awful times alone. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭. You need a community. You need to surround yourself with some “good” people. If you don’t know where to start in crafting your community, consider this quick tip. Community is built through small, consistent acts of connection. Don’t force it. Don’t bring your raggedy relationship baggage with you (everyone is not like the person who did you wrong). Just be present. Be you.
