Energy Drone & Robotics Coalition

Energy Drone & Robotics Coalition The Energy Drone & Robotics Coalition and Summit are Dedicated to Improving Safety, Efficiency, ROI

The EDR Coalition is focused on innovating energy operations with dynamic UAV, Robotics, Data and Automation solutions. The EDRC brings innovators together to advance the industry through digital resource sharing (like the weekly Energy Drone & Robotics Newsroom, resources on the IE website, research reports, blogs, podcasts, and webinars), as well as digital & live events (including the EDR Summit Series, Forums and smaller meetups throughout the year). The EDRS is the only event exclusively focused on the business and technology of unmanned systems (aerial, ground/surface & subsea) in energy operations. It’s the largest event in the world where the key challenges & solutions for how all segments of the energy industry are currently operating drones and robotics successfully.

Scopito reported that AI can transform utility inspections, but success starts with solving specific workflow problems, not simply adopting the latest technology. With clear objectives and structured data, utilities can use AI to cut repetitive work, analyze inspection data faster and improve decision-making without adding more digital chaos.

"AI in utility inspections" is everywhere in the headlines—but few are explaining how to actually implement it. AI isn’t a magic button you plug in and hit “go.” Successful implementation starts by identifying real workflow pain points—where manual processes are slow, repetitive, or prone ...

🤖 AI is moving beyond the screen and into the real world, with arms, wheels, sensors and a much more interesting job description.

Physical AI startups raised $47.4 BILLION across 521 deals in the first half of 2026, nearly 4X the amount raised in the second half of 2025.

For critical infrastructure, that means AI-powered robots that can inspect hazardous assets, collect data and eventually act on what they find. Siemens is already testing humanoid robots in industrial environments, while digital twins give machines a virtual place to train and make mistakes before hitting the factory floor.

Sensors collect. AI interprets. Digital twins simulate. Robots act.

Physical AI is starting to connect the pieces - Read more now in our article, Physical AI Is Getting, Well, Physical 👉 https://hubs.la/Q04x5XKP0

🛡️🚁 Featured on Autonomy Global’s Dawn of Autonomy podcast, Ironaxe Corporation emerged from two years of stealth development with two counter-UAS aircraft designed to stop hostile drones without relying on costly missiles. Founder and CEO Peter Schmidt introduced Moirai, which captures drones using an entanglement system, and Slayer, built to hunt long-range attack drones such as the Shahed.

Peter Schmidt, founder and CEO of Ironaxe Corporation, believes the smartest way to stop a hostile drone is not to blow it up with a $30,000 heat-seeking missile. It is to catch it. On a recent episode of the Dawn of Autonomy podcast, Schmidt officially announced that Ironaxe, a subsidiary of Transc...

🤖🏗️ Construction robots are gaining serious traction as major investments pour into companies like Gravis Robotics, Bedrock Robotics and FieldAI, while autonomous machines move onto real jobsites. Construction Dive reports that the momentum reflects both advances in robotics and contractors’ growing need for new ways to tackle labor shortages and massive workloads.

For years, small, adaptable machines that perform repetitive jobsite tasks have seen the most success. As technology advances, that's beginning to change.

Autonomous operations aren’t about kicking humans out of the control room, they’re about helping scarce experts oversee more assets, make faster decisions and spend less time on routine or hazardous work. As industrial operators face workforce shortages, aging assets and growing complexity, autonomy is emerging as a way to amplify human expertise rather than simply replace it. https://bit.ly/3Stw4AR
