I’ve been thinking a lot lately about grief—the different kinds of grief and the different ways we carry it.

We grieve the loss of a pet, a parent, a spouse, a child, a friend, a marriage, a relationship, a season of life, and sometimes even the person we used to be.

And I don’t think one grief needs to be compared to another because, at the end of the day, it’s our grief. It’s our loss. It’s our bridge to cross.

Some of us bury the pain. Some process it quickly, some slowly, and some carry pieces of it forever. Some wake up with grief every day but still get up, go to work, care for their families, laugh, love, and keep living.

Because grief is part of life. There will be tremendous joy, and there will be tremendous pain.

But one thing I’ve learned is that we all need someone.

So if you’re in a season of grief, talk to someone. Call a friend. Call a therapist. Call a priest or pastor. Call on God. Just call on someone.

Honor what you’ve lost. Miss them. Remember them. Grieve them.

But don’t forget to live with the living—the people who are still here, loving you and needing you.

Because while you’re carrying your grief, chances are they’re carrying some of their own, too.

Maybe that’s part of how we get through it—not by forgetting what we’ve lost, but by holding a little tighter to what we still have. ❤️

☕️ THE GREAT COFFEE MUG DEBATE!!! ☕️

Stephen and I were discussing—or should I say I was discussing 😂—the fact that we need another shaker peg shelf for coffee mugs.

His response: “Why? We already have one.”

Sir. There are MANY reasons.

1. The wall looks bare with just one shelf.
2. I have a lot of coffee mugs I want to display.
3. It clears out an entire shelf in the cabinet.
4. I want one. (Technically, I feel like this should have ended the discussion.)
5. Because. Just…because. 😂

Then he informs me that he is a “one coffee cup man.”

First of all, this man barely even drinks coffee at home! Meanwhile, I drink coffee at home SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. I feel like my opinion carries a little more weight in this particular department. ☕️😂

And second…how do you just have ONE coffee mug?!

My mug choice depends entirely on my mood. Some mornings call for a big cozy mug. Some need the pretty floral one. Sometimes I want the vintage-looking one. Sometimes the mug just feels right for that particular morning.

You wouldn’t wear the same shirt every day, Stephen.
Why would I drink out of the same mug?! 😂

So here lies the question in The Great Coffee Mug Debate:

100% Vulnerability Post

It’s funny I’m posting this because I’m embarrassed by my legs but the first step to walking outside is just ripping off the band-aid!!!

Working out has not been fun for me for a long time now. Not because I don’t enjoy it, my shoulder and neck pain just really put a damper on things. Yes, I can walk or get on the peloton.. don’t ask why I haven’t! I don’t know. Other than finding anything else to do besides go outside and workout. I have been walking around the block, working on multiple projects at home and about the only time I sit at home is when I’m reading or having my coffee.

But, I’m tired of caring what everyone else thinks. I’m tired of the thoughts someone I don’t know has. The thoughts of when they see me with my husband and wonder why a guy with muscles and in shape is with a girl who has cellulite!

So I’m going on a day date with my husband, wearing banana shorts in yellow vans and going to eat copious amounts of chips or pizza!!!!
