Dear Friends and Neighbors, I would like to thank you for supporting Space City Sprockets for the last 9 years. It has been a privilege to share the joy of recovering precious memories from long ago. We've had the opportunity to retrieve archival film and slides from as early as the 1930s and video tape from the 1970s. It sure is fun to watch these old images come back to life! We have also rescued audio from reel to reel, cassettes and even home pressed shellac disks from the 1940s.
At this point though, since my wife has passed and I am left to run the business by myself, I can unfortunately no longer provide these services. The cost of materials and machine repairs has shot up dramatically and I cannot keep my prices competitive. I would warn anyone from sending vintage media out of state, especially to cut-rate corporate wholesale transfer companies. I hope you are able to find a local shop that can do it. These services require a lot of professional skill and high touch care in order to retrieve increasingly delicate material from old media. I wish I could still provide the service but my costs are just too high and I would need to increase my hourly rate 3X at least!
Again, thank you so much for trusting us all these years and giving us 5 star reviews on Google. It is too bad we have to shut down but I remain grateful for all the great shared stories and new friends made during the last 9 years.
